Varian had known it was a possibility though, so his advisors are ready. They usher Anduin to Varian's office -- his office now -- and give him a crash course on everything he needs to know for this new role he has to play.

And this is how, in the span of three hours and a half, Anduin learns about his father's passing and Bolvar's fate. He loses a dad and learns that his other dad is still alive. In the same fucking afternoon.

He almost passes out when he reads the report about Bolvar taking on the mantle of the Lich King and expressing the wish to be declared dead for the good of all Azeroth. He has to sit down on his father's plush armchair, the one that still smells like him, and dismiss everyone so he doesn't make a fool out of himself by starting to bawl his eyes out in front of witnesses.
