I will say outside of issues with him being presented as tiny and weak when red deer are enormous and could rock a lot of ambush predators one on one, I do really like Louie's character progression. We go from the most overdramatic disaster theater kid in existence to weirdly one of the most grounded characters in the series. And I weirdly do understand the overdramatic theater kid part. I'd probably also be overcompensating like crazy if I spent my entire life as a potential menu item and then an object with no will of its own. If the Kines plot actually went anywhere I think he would have had a much more active role in everything at the end.
