I still can’t believe how far we’ve come. When Luke first announced that he was going to be on Andi Mack, no one thought he’d be Cyrus’ endgame. When he was first introduced, we thought he was just a side character for Buffy’s storyline. When the muffin scene happened, some of us thought it was cute, but probably a one time thing. Some of us started shipping it as a crack ship, not believing that anything would come out of it. It was all Jyrus. I remember going on the Tyrus tag and there was only 5 posts with maybe 30-100 notes at most. I remember people arguing over what to call it. I remember when the ship was so small, posts unrelated to the ship would be the majority of the tag. No one talked about it. But then the swing set scene happened, and people started to pay attention and started to question things. I remember seeing the scene and being like “Um. That’s….pretty gay.” I started to ship it, seeing as there was some potential, as many other people did. Tyrus gained a lot more shippers. But the majority of people still shipped Jyrus. Tyrus shippers weren’t liked. We got hate for shipping Cyrus with TJ. Not everyone saw what we saw. But a lot of people also started to be like “Hey. Maybe Tyrus could happen.” Then more Tyrus scenes started to happen-the scenes being more endgame-coded, Jyrus started to fade, and more people started shipping them. Crew and cast started talking about it, and it became the biggest ship on Andi Mack. And now we know it’s endgame. Cyrus and TJ were always meant to be together. TJ was here for Cyrus. Tyrus was always meant to be endgame. And that’s just so crazy that what started out as a crack ship was really endgame the entire time.
