SPOOKI’S FFFFECKIN SHET SHACK

This is Autunite! The radioactive bonfire test subject! (Of Parable Labs!) I do like the Hypno-Marie style I went with this design, considering Autunite is a highly radioactive gemstone, and sort of related is that hypno-Marie usually wears a gas mask in her fan concepts. And of course, she’s a (now escaped) test subject at Parable Labs, and of course, I spun the wheel and got werewolf. Sort of clever for how for snow is that she is a snow leopard beastman, and for bonfire how she has a pony tail that looks like a giant green fireball with wood logs.

Meet Carnelian, the used-to-be-human co-worker of Parable Labs! I feel like this was the most quickest character design I’ve done yet in this art challenge, I still like it though! I’d like to think that this character used to be a gem human, still is, but maybe when the incident happened, he probably found out his friend was a narrator and him as well.

And btw currently in the lore maybe our main characters are doing one final fight in an arena at the surface in a gem city or something, maybe against my Artfight sona, Luta. And this character alongside maybe a future character in a future gem-based art challenge in October could make an appearance watching the battle happen from the seats above. Whoooo knows.

This is amethyst! The clever, smart, and ALSO mischievous partner/friend of Blue Diamond! I honestly like how I’ve done her hair and tails here! Just looks really nice to me. Spun the wheel, and whaddya know! I GOT WEREWOLF! And I realised I didn’t colour the book she’s holding. Oops. Welp, it’s white now.

I honestly have nothing to say for this one, I just love how I did them! Our main characters would definitely fight the duo accidentally.

Here we got Blue Diamond, the mischievous chubby tanuki beastman! I do like this design I did, making them round shaped was sort of a smart choice? Like, if I remember with body shapes, a circular character means they’re soft and friendly. And adding little sharp edges can mean that this character may LOOK friendly and approachable, but they are mischievous, energetic, and fierce. And of course tanukis are built like that. Of course I spun the wheel and got werewolf. And I feel like making them a tanuki for the transform prompt and making them hold one of those two-pronged BBQ stick thingies was also a clever idea as well!

Meet Langite, the frail, agile possible cousin of Garnet! This design is overall good, I personally love how I did the hair and outfit. Of course I got werewolf when I spun the wheel, so she’s a hare beastman. Because it fits with the “athlete” prompt. I don’t really have any ideas for this character, they’ll probably be a background character in the story idk, maybe they were friends with Garnet before leaving to the surface, or they are cousins with him because rabbits and hares are similar to each other and belong in the same species order or something.

This mysterious character covered in humid mist is Rose Quartz! A mysterious person from a mysterious organisation. Again I love how I done this character design! I’d honestly like to think they have some relation to Strawberry Quartz, another mysterious character who’s appeared in the very beginning of this Jewel-Lycanthropy story and is also in this mysterious organisation. And also despite being a human gem, she has the ability to shapeshift into her spirit animal. That possibility being a leopard, but it is unknown.

Also btw since it is now the summer holidays, here’s my gemsona Peridot in the background of the the 2012 freedom ending:

This is Benitoite! The rampant co-worker of Parable Labs! I didn’t spin the wheel this time because it IS the anniversary of a game I also really like, Splatoon 2. So I made them an inkling inspired character who is caught between both human and beastman, which I do like how I designed them! And for creativity, they use a canoe paddle as a weapon. Nice. I’d like to think since it IS the anniversary of splatoon 2, they could have the ability to swim in their ink. And their ink is glittery, and their outfit is based off of Hypno-Callie. And I’d also like to think that they’re being hunted down by uh, a peculiar company.

This is Tourmaline, just a chill chubby fisherman dude, and probably a musician. I do like how I’ve done his hair, considering tomorrow is the anniversary of splatoon 2! Spun the wheel, and of course got werewolf. So he’s a sea monster beastman! And when I saw the flip flops prompt, I just had to draw him in loose tropical clothing!

This character is Lapis Lazuli! The reanimated scientist of Parable Labs! I like how I did this design, very early 2000’s vibes. As usual, spun the wheel, and got werewolf. Since one of the prompts is the name of a scientist, not only IS she a scientist from Parable Labs, she’s also a reanimated corpse. Stitches all over them and everything. I also added some splatoon and MD aesthetics into their lab coat because yes. She’d definitely be somewhat plot relevant, like trying to take down a narrator for revenge and using a narrator’s corpse to make a lab experiment. The group would definitely be fighting her.

And here we got Pearl! The cute orange flavoured vampire bat girl. Once again I somehow locked in and did well on the hair and fluff collar, which I really like. And of course I spun the wheel and got werewolf/werebeast. And btw I’ve added some disassembly drone inspiration into this because well, a peculiar indie series returned in the form of a prequel minisode series. (I’m still hyperfixiated on splatoon and tsp though-)

Also btw their wings is also a cape. Neet!

And of course I redesigned Cairngorm from yesterday as a sketch here:

Here we got Cairngorm! A friend of citrine who’s made it to the surface.

I’d like to think this is what’s underneath cairn’s usual work clothes, is just lots and LOTS of bandages, and under them are really bad wounds. I tried to do the dessert prompt, failed really miserably. That hairstyle btw is subtle foreshadowing for citrine later on what she’s about to become.

Here we got Emerald! Or as she likes to call herself, “Captain Nori.” She’s basically a basilisk pirate girl. Even though she accidentally looks like phos, it sorta fits the pirate girl theme, as it kinda looks sea-green. I did spin the wheel, and we got werewolf.

Her outfit btw is based off one of Charo Lyn’s character design ideas shorts! Which is cool! I also like how I made her pigtails seaweed to base it off the seafood prompt, as well as her name being Nori.

Kind of an “alright” design I did today.

Here we got Phosphophyllite, a used-to-be researcher of Parable Labs. The reason why she has a cybernetic arm is because she lost it in the final incident of Parable Labs. But thankfully due to its lab technology, she got a cybernetic arm to replace it. And don’t worry, it’s waterproof.

I do like how I’ve done the hair on this character, alongside the outfit I did for her. I’d like to think that she appears alongside Mariella talking to her until they suddenly meet our group eye to eye.

Overall just a neet design, idk what to say-

Back to the surface now, and we meet Moonstone! The shaman of gem-folk! Of course, similar to yesterday, she is also a bit important to the plot of Jewel-Lycanthropy, and also is a tsp reference, and is also named “Mariella”.

I also spun the wheel and got human, which thank goodness she IS sort of important in some way. Either way she’s a human gem-

I do like the shaman vibes I gave her on her outfit. I was supposed to put sand where she is standing, but uh, I forgot. But she does look like a sand shaman so that’s solved! I’d also like to think just like Stanley, Mariella also got into such a bad accident she shattered, but not that much. Her remains were also found by a certain “Curator” and was brought back to life with kintsugi.

I also like to think in this AU, Stanley and Mariella are somewhat connected. Both have weird pupils, and both have kintsugi. But not only that, whenever Stanley sleeps, his soul is separated from the body. And whenever he is, Mariella unknowingly makes a hologram hallucination of his soul, tricking Stanley to think that he’s dreaming. (He is, but he’s not at the same time.) (it’s complicated.)

Despite being somewhat connected, they barely know each other.

Now, we head back to Parable Labs to meet Cornflower blue opal! A fellow employee at the last recluse of Parable Labs. He is employee number 427. If you know the reference, you know where this is going. He’s not as active outside of his office because he usually is doing prompts on his computer, but something is about to happen that is going to change him. Forever. (That cub-like innocence boutta be RUINED-)

And btw, he chose a name for himself. “Stanley”.

Yeaaaa if you noticed this is one BIG tsp reference, actually, all my art challenge AUs have TSP in them. He’s uh, just in an outfit you’d wear at a beach because that’s one of the prompts. I did like how I done his hair. I also like how I gave him kintsugi, which could imply he was once a normal gem, but got in an incident so bad he got shattered, causing a certain… “Narrator” to find his remains and bring him back to life. He’s basically a fancy zombie in a way?

I didn’t spin the wheel this time, because he IS pretty important.

Here we got ruby! A fellow musician who sometimes does crossover music with Black Opal! And also is a friend of Black Opal.

Of course I spun the wheel and… we got a werewolf. Which is fitting, I guess. For one of the prompts.

I like how I went for a tropical vibe with her outfit, and the sand castle prompt being the little crown she wears. It took a bit longer because while I was doing whatever, my recent searches dissolved. Disappeared. Gone. 💀. Which brought down my mood a little. But no worries, I finished it and here we are now.

I’d like to think Ruby and Black Opal’s band name would probably be Scarlet Night because yea that sounds cool as hell. And I do like the glittery translucent poncho and.. the.. side dress thing I did.

Btw here’s today’s illustration to show you where our group is in right now!

Basically our group has made it to a peculiar artistic fighting place in the form of an island region, where each July every year, new idols appear based off of different teams and each region is themed after that idol and their team. Anywho, our team makes it there and meet my ArtFight sona Luta, and a BUNCH of narrators.

Buuuut, considering our team is from Parable Labs, and a narrator-oriented incident happened, some beef happens between the two groups and get into a battle. A 6 vs 12 battle. (Luckily, our main team wins the battle!)

This is Black Opal! I’d like to think she’s a music producer on the peculiar artist fighting island making music for the turf wars. I based her design off of Frye’s splatoween outfit! Why? Well I saw that orange and purple black opal and went “ooo that has spooky vibes, I love it.” I’d like to think as well for pug that she has a mask with an animated mouth on it! She also has an Egyptian Sun symbol as a hairpiece because yes!

Btw for Black Opal’s hair I actually used the black opal image on the top right and made it into the hairstyle’s shape. “Work smarter, not harder.” As they say.
