My art assignment 5 months ago
I felt like I was too mentally unstable for artfight, but the idea of me, quantum detectives guy, joining team mystery LAST MINUTE is enticing... I have done zero preparation because I honestly was tired of hearing about artfight to the point I've blocked tags (I SALUTE THOSE WHO ARE JOINING it's just that I did not foresee myself joining until literally now)
I do have an account for spectating, but I'm still pretty hesitant due to an irrational anxiety that I'll encounter somebody I know irl or used to know haha.

skyfall stuff from a while back
I need to get back into James Bond beyond random bursts of remembering the franchise exists beyond my favorite film (Tomorrow Never Dies) that ruined my identity forever and going bonkers for a solid day before going back to my detectives...Noticing an influx of new fandom stuff because of the new game.
I like to speculate what other directions other people could have gone with the idea of personified interpretations of quantum mechanics...I think a more historical approach with the reception of interpretations would be fun with the "Gods Need Prayer Badly" trope to connect to the actual popularity of the interpretations over time. Despite the absurdity of my detectives, I think they're a bit more grounded compared to what I'd anticipate from a quantum interpretation themed project (something that really hones into the weirdness of quantum mechanics...most likely science fiction).
I also had a thought of somebody doing their own take on periodic table personifications based on Water Margin with 118 heroes (instead of the novel's original 108) themed on the elements! Depending on how I feel, I'd love to return to periodic table themed OCs (I used to have some years ago as a teenager hehe) but it'd require me to lock the fuck in on research.
Also, philosophy of chemistry...Need to do more research on it since I feel like I focus a lot on philosophy of physics mainly even though I also like philosophy of science broadly...

New side quest for me...The superscript is killing me like it feels like throwing shade towards your fellow philosopher.

Dr. Watanabe as a philosopher detective is SO fun to write because I just came up with the idea of them apprehending a criminal and they make reference to Aristotle's Nicomachean Ethics about being "at the right time, on the right occasion, towards the right people, for the right purpose and in the right manner."
I should say that I tied in virtue ethics (both Aristotelian and Confucian) using archery imagery (see "The Mean, the Right and Archery" by Yu Jiyuan) to the arrow of time (which Dr. Watanabe is associated with due to having a thermodynamics motif and being a philosopher of time). One thing that's important to Quantum Detective Agency is that all of the detectives are trying to achieve their own version of the "good life" so that's the relevancy of virtue ethics for Watanabe, even though he won't necessarily reach eudaimonia or even fully adopt virtue ethics. His arc is just a big love letter to philosophy as a whole.

In celebration of the Children's Day on June 1st in China, Three-Body community's weibo account posted this of main Three-Body characters being 7-year old in school.
Look how adorable they are! Ye Wenjie is about to receive her first message from listener 1379 vis that paper plane. Luo Ji is drawing the solar system. Zhang Beihai is the one who's eager to speak up (not sure if he's asking a question or answering one). I think those are Wade and Yun Tianming on the blackboard in the back of the classroom.
Last but not least, I'm thrilled that the Shiwang agenda is still strong. Every time there's a group art of main Three-Body characters, they are always together in their own little world. Look at them in the back with Shi Qiang falling a sleep, and Wang Miao judging him. That's just so them and so in character LOLLOLLOL. I'm pretty sure after Dashi wakes up, he'd beg Miaomiao to help him catch up after class LOL.

Explanation: Newborn stars are forming in the Eagle Nebula. They are gravitationally contracting in pillars of dense gas and dust. The intense radiation of these newly-formed bright stars is causing surrounding material to boil away. This image, taken with the Hubble Space Telescope in near infrared light, allows the viewer to see through much of the thick dust that makes the pillars opaque in visible light. The giant structures are light years in length and dubbed informally the Pillars of Creation. Associated with the open star cluster M16, the Eagle Nebula lies about 6,500 light years away. The Eagle Nebula is a satisfying target for small telescopes in a nebula-rich part of the sky toward the split constellation Serpens Cauda (the tail of the snake).
