Ryan had been listening to the female’s conversation with the other male and decided to jump in. “Hey babe,” He said, coming in behind the female. “I was looking for you everywhere” He said, grabbing her shoulders lightly. “Are we having any trouble here?” He said, raising his eyebrows towards the other male.

Charlie didn't expect this at all but decided to play it along with him so her ex could leave her alone. "Oh hey babe! I'm sorry, I wanted to grab a drink but didn't find a bar." She explained, pressing her lips against his cheek for a few minutes, then pulled back to steal a glance at her ex. "You just arrived on time because that douchebag has been annoying me ever since, you think you can handle him?" Charlie asked, looking at the stranger and flashed him a nervous smile.

"I don’t want to talk about it, not now." He said, trying to look away from the other.

"I don't want to force you to tell me what's bothering you because honestly, all I care about right now is seeing you happy, which you are not so I'm going to try my best to at least make you smile."

"I don’t lie about two things: how I feel about you and food." He wagged his index finger wildly at her in a scolding manner. "I honestly don’t see that happening. Your parents make like everything a big deal. I bet you there is a dinner at your house. I bet you fifty bucks."

"Please tell me we're not going- they're going to embarrass me!" She complained jokingly. "Can't we just stay here and celebrate together?"

Tyler waved a hand and smirked a little “He cries every night because of that. I’m kidding!”

"but I'm pretty sure he'll try to forget us a little and keep himself busy by taking care of my mom and loving her."

"You are having a birthday not a funeral. Lighten up, no one is making fun of you. You are the sexiest most wonderful twenty four year old on the planet!"

"I guess you're right         well, apart from being the sexiest four year old on the planet because that's a lie." Charlie bit her lower lip. "but yeah, I think I should go out and party hard."

He bowed his head to laugh. Of course he knew what today was. He knew her pretty much all his life. Scott was very aware of what today was. “It is your birthday.”

"See        you're not near happy because I'm old now... you and my stupid brother are also making fun of me because I'm upset!"
