I think even if he said something small about what’s happening it would be something at least. Better than nothing at all 😔

I think it has a lot to do with him being scared to lose opportunities, but it sticks out when his friends and those he works with are using their platform to speak out and are still working on many projects.

The politician follow is inexcusable though, he better unfollow them soon 😭

I wouldn’t necessarily expect his family to be posting things when they don’t have the platform that he does (although people I personally know are posting about it and they don’t have a platform)

The right wing politicians follow I can think of no excuse for however, not even if it is for a role. That is just so wrong and disappointing.

I also respect you so much for speaking out about this, even if we are his fans I think it is important to call out things he does that we find concerning.

I can’t imagine that his family would be getting extreme threats, particularly because the things he has spoken out about in the past have been more so working class access to the arts

As someone who is so proud to be from Belfast and who so obviously loves his home, I find it startling that he can be quiet in times like this - when the city he loves is literally on fire. What happened in Belfast was awful, but what has occurred in Belfast overnight is also awful. The far right have taken a disgusting and traumatic crime and used it for their own agenda and have escalated the violence on the street. These are the people who claim to be protecting women and children, yet the North has some of the highest rates of femicide on the island and no outrage is expressed in this way about that.

The fact that Anthony’s friends and colleagues, even the ones that are not from the North, have spoken out against this violence and he has not is startling. To make it even worse, this comes a day after he followed a polish far right politician on instagram. Now I know that Anthony has in the past followed people like that due to the roles that he is filming, but in my opinion there is nothing that justifies a follow like the one the other day.

I am not saying that Anthony has done anything wrong, because he hasn’t, but I am upset at what has gone on and the fact that he is silent. In the past he spoke out, but recently he seems to have become more private and shied away from anything inherently political. To me that is crazy, as his existence is inherently political. He is a catholic/nationalist from Belfast, his community knows what it is like to be persecuted for your religion/views, his family knows the feeling personally.

I am not saying that to stay silent means that you support what is happening, it doesn’t. But silence compounds the problem. Anthony isn’t of a level where anything he says will make a splash, but there are plenty of his fans from Belfast who would like to hear from him, there are plenty of his fans from all over the world who live under oppression and would love to hear him say something. There are probably young people who look up to him and he needs to stand up and be a role model.

Although I feel once ISBFLL comes out we're going to have to see some other cast member anons come out 👀 because they obviously love coming to you.
