chocolate chip cookies ♥
perfectly gooey, crispy on the outside. heres how to make the perfect choc chip cookie.
ingredients:
170g unsalted butter, melted & slightly cooled
150g light brown sugar
80g granulated sugar
1 large egg + 1 egg yolk (room temp = better texture)
2 tsp vanilla extract
220g plain flour
½ tsp bicarbonate of soda
½ tsp fine salt
180g chocolate chips or chunks
method!
1.prepare the dough
in a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar for about 1 minute until smooth and glossy. add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla extract. whisk for 30–45 seconds until the mixture is thicker and slightly lighter in colour.
2.add dry ingredients
add the flour, bicarbonate of soda, and salt. using a spatula or wooden spoon, mix until just combined. stop mixing as soon as no dry flour is visible. fold in the chocolate chips evenly.
3.chill the dough
cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (up to 24 hours). this step improves flavour and prevents cookies from spreading too much.
4.preheat and shape
preheat oven to 180°C (160°C fan). line a baking tray with baking paper. scoop the dough into 50g portions (about 2 tablespoons each). roll into balls and place on the tray, leaving 5–7 cm between each.
5.bake
bake for 10–12 minutes until the edges are light golden brown and the centres look pale and slightly underbaked.
6.cool and enjoy!
remove from oven and leave cookies on tray for 5 minutes. transfer to a wire rack to cool completely or eat warm for a soft centre
key tips (for perfect texture)
for thicker cookies: chill longer (2+ hours)
for slightly flatter cookies: gently press the dough balls before baking
do not overbake, the centres will firm up as they cool
optional: sprinkle a small pinch of flaky salt on top immediately after baking

a girls guide to beating boredom
you've refreshed tumblr 50 times, doomscrolled for hours, and nothings entertaining you. instead of bedrotting this summer, here are some ideas to overcome boredom.
1.bake something cute
-cupcakes, cookies, brownies (even the special kind) anything. google a recipie and do it. if you dont have any ingredients you could take a nice walk to your local shops to buy them.
-you could even try some of my recipies, check my masterlist for a complete list
2. have a solo photo shoot
-boredom is the perfect excuse to romanticize yourself a little. instead of waiting for plans or someone else to take photos of you, turn your room into a tiny studio and become both the muse and the photographer. play around with outfits you’ve been saving, change your makeup just for fun, or step into a completely different character for the day. it’s a surprisingly fun (speaking from experience).
how to?
-set the scene first: tidy one small area, open your curtains, and use natural light or a warm lamp to create a cinematic space.
-pick a “character” for your shoot like a model off duty, a downtown girl, or a main character from your favourite movie, and build your look around it.
-try different outfits you already own and layer accessories, hairstyles, or makeup changes so each version of you feels slightly different.
-use a timer or tripod and experiment with angles, movement, candid shots, and silly in between moments often look the best.
-recreate inspiration photos or celebrity looks, but add your own twist so it feels personal rather than copied.
3. learn a random skill
• pick something completely random that sparks curiosity, like calligraphy, baking, basic photography, flower arranging, or learning a few phrases in another language.
• start with tiny and low pressured lessons instead of committing to anything intense so it feels fun rather than overwhelming.
• use free tutorials, pinterest guides, or short videos and try things immediately instead of saving them “for later.”
•allow yourself to be bad at it at first the charm is in experimenting and learning! not just being instantly good.
• set aside short, relaxed moments in your day where you can practice without distraction.
4. create bucket lists for each season
-boredom often feels worse when every day starts to blend into the next. a seasonal bucket list is a simple way to bring a little anticipation and excitement back into your life. it turns ordinary months into something you can look forward to.
how to?
pick one season you’re in right now and romanticise it properly, like autumn walks, spring cafés, summer sunsets, or winter cosy nights.
• write a list of small, realistic things you actually want to do this season, like trying a new café, taking a long walk, baking something seasonal, or watching a comfort film.
• add a mix of simple and slightly special plans so it feels exciting but still achievable, not overwhelming or unrealistic.
• keep it somewhere visible (notes app, journal, pinterest boards) so you can actually revisit it instead of forgetting it exists.
• tick things off slowly as the season goes on and let yourself enjoy the anticipation of doing them rather than rushing through them.
• update it each season so your life always has something new to look forward to.
5. create a collection of beautiful things.
starting a collection of anything like photos, pressed flowers, trinkets, and reciepts from a good day is a way of paying attention to those ordinary moments we might usually overlook.
how to?
start a small memory box where you collect little pieces of your life like tickets, packaging from special days, handwritten notes, and tiny keepsakes.
• take polaroids or printed photos and tuck them into albums, journals, or jars so your memories feel physical instead of just digital.
• press flowers from walks, dates, or random good days and keep them between books or inside journals as soft reminders of different moments.
• collect small trinkets from meaningful places like charms, café stirrers, shells, keychains, or anything that reminds you of a specific feeling you want to hold on to.
• keep receipts from nice moments like coffee runs, shopping days, or trips out and store them as little timestamps of your life
you could even put these on your wall instead of a journal or album, so its like a collage
6. have a self care night
a comfort night is the best way to reset your mood, especially if everything feels a bit dull and repetitive. try to step away from that boredom and create valuable time for yourself to unwind. it makes life feel a little more special, and leaves you ending the day much more fulfilled.
how to?
run yourself a long, warm shower or bath. try not to rush it and let it be a reset for your whole day. you deserve it angel.
• pick a comfort movie or show you’ve already seen and let it play in the background while you unwind.
• change into fresh bedding or clean, soft clothes so your space instantly feels calmer.
• light candles or switch on warm lighting to make your room feel cosy instead of bright and overstimulating.
• do a simple self care act like a face mask, skincare, or hair treatment
• make a warm drink you actually enjoy (recipies coming soon) and sip it while being present instead of multitasking.
7. create a vision board
-buy some posterboard, search pintrest for pictures and print them, arrange them like a collage and hang up somewhere where you see it everyday. the perfect art project that benifits you in the long run. by seeing it everyday you will become more motivated.

i’m sure we’ve all had that horrible experience when trying on a top that gives your body no justice at all, so let’s avoid that. here’s a quick guide on dressing in a way that makes everything click. when something works on you, its balance, proportion, and knowing where to highlight, soften, or define.
step 1- finding your shape
stand in front of a mirror and look at your proportions, not your size.
are your shoulders wider than your hips?
are your hips wider than your shoulders?
is your waist very defined or more straight?
thats all you need.
rectangle: shoulders, waist, and hips are similar, with little waist definition
pear: hips are wider than shoulders

one quote I always think of when it comes to any kind of relationship is “we accept the love we think we deserve” and I think the same applies to friendships. misery loves company and I know what it’s like to be surrounded by the wrong types of friends.
so, heres how to choose the right people.
1- dont be afraid to be alone
in order to choose the right people for you, you must be fully comfortable and content with your own company. being alone is a thousand times better than being with a group of people that secretly hate you. try to remember that other people’s perception of you is not who you truly are. the kind of people that may judge you (or other people) for being sat alone at lunch, or not wearing the trendiest shoes are not the kind of friends you want to keep around.
2- notice how they talk about other people.
if someone constantly gossips, criticizes, or tears others down, you’re not the exception, you’re just not the topic yet. choose people who are kind to everyone, even behind their back.
3-make sure theres no quiet competition
i personally noticed this a lot in my past friendship groups, and it’s hard to confront them about it because there’s no physical proof. however, you should never feel like you’re in a silent race with your own friends. the right friendships don’t gravitate to comparing looks, comparing attention or comparing achievements. but instead, they move more towards mutual support. like you’re both winning, in different ways, at the same time. everyone has their own personal goals and future plans, just embrace your own instead of focusing on the people around you!
4-choose people who respect your boundaries
if you say no, change plans, need space, or express a feeling, the right people respect it. they don't guilt you, they dont pressure you, they dont make you feel difficult. respect is non negotiable.
5-choose alignment over history
just because you’ve known someone for a long time doesn’t mean they’re right for the person you’re becoming. choose people who match your future, not just your past. there’s no need to stick around with someone if you don’t feel that initial spark with. if you feel like you’re moving on, that’s completely valid and you deserve to be around people you’d want your highest self to stick with.
remember that:
the right friends wont confuse you. they wont dim you. they wont make you question your value. real friends are supportive, easy and real.
