Rambling about Spidey

The Department of Damage Control was Tony's creation, at least partially. Toomes knew that. Peter knew that; it was televised and advertised. And so Peter went to work for them, and they experimented on people like him, and then they lied to him and turned on him. Before that, they scanned his body and tried to make him reveal his identity.

We see so much of Tony in him in this movie: EEVEE, the fabricator, alterations to his own body, going to Bruce for help when he realizes he needs it, fake names, certain angled shots, patting that kid on the head. And then he goes to a place that Tony had a hand in building. And then they screw him over.

there is something so beautiful about ned being the first to “remember” peter.

i don’t believe he fully remembers him (i’m not entirely sure how the spell works lol), but i think between learning spider-man’s name from mj after building legos with him, the emotional turmoil of watching spider-man nearly die along with the entirety of new york, and of course, the muscle memory of the handshake, something clicked. i doubt everything just came back to him, and i’m sure peter will have to do some explaining, but i fully believe that he felt that he knew peter for a long time.

don’t get me wrong, i also believe mj is also remembering (why was she crying why was she CRYING) but that’s a rant for another day. but i feel like a lot of people - myself included - believed she would be the one to remember first (hence the jean gray fake out scene). but it being ned is so special, because however you take their relationship, that’s his best friend. no one makes an intricate best friend handshake with someone they don’t care deeply for. and clearly, that handshake stood the test of time.

the way peter was frozen when "mj" kissed him and took off his mask. the way he was SOBBING after she said his name, and "remembered" him. the way he completely broke down, hugging her so tight. the way his voice wavers when he said "i've missed you so much."

the way he probably thought that after four years, it will all be okay.

Oh peter. There were scenes where I just saw the little boy peter and not the 22-year-old peter. Fuck yeah

the flashbacks were cruel. I loved it. The ”i dont love you” scene was a bit ooc imo and a bit only for the dramatics but yeahhhh it’s a movie made for fans after all
