Misunderstandings is one of my least favorite tropes by far, but I’d like to see a PHM fic where Yao and Ilyukhina make it to Tau Ceti and Grace, upon remembering how he got on the ship, thinks that they knew and purposefully lied to him. Angst ensues.
one teeny tiny nitpicky part of the phm movie i haven’t seen anyone point out is the background scientists. not the fact that the named ones from the book weren’t used but the fact that they very easily could have been.
like dr. sood (i think his name was) could have easily been dmitri. i know someone was credited as lokken at least. i get why they didn’t have a bigger role, there just isnt enough time in the movie, but that would be such an easy nod to the book. the characters were already there! just give them a nametag or something.
