yeah i mean people having issues with the word for past experiences and such arent exaggerating, its people who pretend like queer is only an homophobic slur and not also an identity are those who exaggerate, also because indeed in non english speaking countries queer doent exist so its not nice to assume that EVERYONE must be disgusted by it

as a non native english speaker can i say that i find the hate for the word queer a little exaggerate? like where i live that doesnt even exist and the biggest slur is gay itself. however queer is useful for me at least in online spaces because i dont have a set gender/sexuality and i think that applies to me more than anything.

tbh i dont believe people are angry bc they mis identified as something, they just hate that orientation and see it as degrading to id as such. im saying this as a lesbian who used to id as bi and now im chill with myself but also i have the highest consideration for bi people because im not a biphobe who thinks its bad and shameful for a woman to like boys. if people get angry at bi people for mis identifying as bi theyre biphobes plain and simple
