as a condition of her moving to earth one she had set a single goal -- live outside of her comfort zone as much as possible. maybe that’s why she found herself here in this shady bar, sitting in the lap of someone absolutely none of her friends would approve of, a hand resting on either side of his shoulders as she leaned in to deepen the kiss. it was a bad idea -- terrible. but how could something so wrong feel so right at the moment?

For as long as she could remember, Iris had never eaten lunch alone if she could help it. Perhaps it was the time of the day when she could relax and share a good moment with those she loved the most. And so, she always tried her best to schedule lunch dates with her family and friends, and she certainly looked forward to the days Jesse had some free time. “You sound like Barry,” she said with an amused smile playing in her lips as she joined her on the bench. She took a sip of her milkshake, taking a moment to enjoy the sweet taste. “How have you been, Jesse?” Iris could not begin to imagine how it would like to be away from home and those close to her, and she wanted to make sure her friend had the support system she needed.

        ‘ despite the whole fish out of water thing that comes with uprooting your life to an entirely new universe --- pretty great, actually.’     her shoulders shrugged lazily, a faint smile spreading over her features. in truth, she often found herself wondering if she had made the right decision. it was a scary feeling knowing you were leaving your entire life behind, yet at the same time the possibilities of a fresh start exhilarated her. here she wasn’t the daughter of harrison wells --- she was just jesse. besides, the one thing this earth had that hers didn’t was enough of a reason to stay on it’s own --- team flash. there was a brief pause as she took another bite out of her food, her gaze drifting towards the other.     ‘what about you?’

‘ selfies are still a thing on this earth, right ? ‘    her words were phrased as a question, but her phone was already half way out of her pocket before she finished asking. one hand raised in the air, the other gently rested on his shoulder, as she leaned in lips pressed against his cheek and snapped the picture.
