As a mother I could never understand your coldness and callousness towards me. You survived my father and barely got out alive. You were a domestic violence victim. When you looked at me you saw him. You didn't care that I was his victim too. I survived my daughter's father. When I look into her beautiful eyes all I see is love. I don't see her father. When she laughs and giggles, I see all the generations in my family as a young child. I wouldn't let her be a victim to her father. I've used every last bit of energy I have protecting her and fighting for her. As a daughter I get it. You had to do what you had to do. But as a mother I will never understand.
