CALL SCRIPTS TO OPPOSE KOSA & The KIDS Act.đą
So I just finished calling my Reps and Senators this morning about these dangerous internet bills that we do not want to become law with the script I asked Gemini to make. You don't want to copy it word for word, you can tell them why you oppose these bills in your own words, and also, especially, tell them that you will NOT vote for them this upcoming election should they keep prioritizing these unwanted age verification laws.
...
Script:
You: "Hello, my name is [Your Name] and I am a constituent living in [Your City/Town or Zip Code]. I am calling to urge [Representative/Senator's Last Name] to vote NO on the Kids Online Safety Act (KOSA) and the KIDS Act package."
Staffer: (Will usually say thank you, and may ask for your reasoning or take notes.)
You: "While protecting children online is a vital goal, these bills utilize a fundamentally flawed approach that threatens the digital rights and free speech of all internet usersâincluding the young people they claim to protect.
I strongly object to these bills for three main reasons:
Mass Censorship Concerns: By creating vague legal liabilities for online platforms, these bills will force tech companies to aggressively over-filter the internet. This will result in the suppression of constitutionally protected speech and restrict access to vital educational resources, mental health support, and communities for marginalized youth.
Privacy and Surveillance Risks: In order to comply with these regulations, websites will be heavily incentivized to implement mandatory age-verification technologies. This means everyday citizens and minors will be forced to hand over sensitive personal data or government IDs just to browse the web, dramatically increasing the risk of data breaches and government surveillance.
Stripping Digital Autonomy: These laws prioritize top-down censorship over genuine digital literacy and safer platform architecture, undermining the fundamental rights of users to access information freely.
I see past the well-intentioned names of these bills. Please let the [Representative/Senator] know that if they continue to prioritize legislation that expands censorship and surveillance under the guise of safety, I will absolutely remember it, and they will not have my support or vote in future elections. Can I count on the [Representative/Senator] to vote NO on this package?"
We need to call and email and irl mail our reps and senators. Tell them you will not vote for them if they support age verification. Tell them that you will vote for the other if they are not in support of age verification. Threaten them with your power of voting you have over them. Make them know who really gets them in office. Spread the word as much as you can. BOTH online like you normally do and offline toward family and public spaces. I am so tired, I just wanna see this one win for the people. Please, do not forget as you reblog, to also tell family and extended family, as well as in person to tell the people who's only entertainment is local news that is LACKING in this topic. Please, I know this is a lot to ask. Yet we need this to be able to speak freely online without risk of being arrested over a damn post. Remember what the u.s. did to tik tok. Tik tok is now nothing more than a fucking u.s. echo chamber that also collects your location that you can't turn off. Also losing the funniest trend involving how people would hold nasty angles against ice agents.
Emergency, Internet Censorship Bills
Senator Castor, one of the original main Democratic senators pushing KOSA (Kids ONline safty act, is supportive of the House version in the KIDS Act. (The Kids Internet and Digital Safety Ace)
Explanation (The KIDS Act, a package of proposals the Energy and Commerce panel advanced as a single bill on a party-line vote in March. It was a way neak through a collection of controversial bills like KOSA and the SCREEN Act under a new name. I had a post about it back in March)
. This is extremely dangerous and could symbolize other sentiments in the Senate right now. Blumenthal can talk all he wants on how the KIDS Act is dead on arrival but that is not true. This is an all hands on deck moment. BLOW UP THOSE PHONES. Call 202-224-3121. Spread it.
. BLOW UP THOSE PHONES.
Call 202-224-3121. Spread it.
my poshort script from past post Monsters and Junk â Update on KOSA and other internet censorship....
"Hello I am calling about Kids Online Safety Act, The NO FAKES act, and a bunch of Age Verification mandates. being proposed As has been said before, these age verification bills collect data all in one place for hackers to easily gather, making children less safe. This has been shown when other countries tried like UK's Online Safety Act rollout. Kosa not only has similar problems, but gives state attorney generals too much power to sue any website for any reason. And finally, the No fakes act is written too broadly It. would make it so that all depictions of a person's likeness or voice are restricted [(not just ai generated] While sounding good on paper, this would in the process expose users, creators, platforms and developers exposed to lawsuits for everyday speech like memes and parodies. Making it so that anyone with deep-enough pockets could file a lawsuit to ANYONE they [accuse of using] AI for anything . These are all disasters waiting to happen and I thus ask you oppose them."
Rebloging
The House is getting ready to vote our digital rights away! đ¨
THE TIME TO ACT IS NOW!!!
We always knew this is gonna happen, but I didn't expect it to happen this quick, tbh.Â
The internet-hating, puritan fucks are now getting ready to get KOSA and other censorship, surveillance, and digital ID bills in the KIDS Act package (COPPA 2.0, Safe Messaging for Kids Act, The Safer GAMING Act, etc) to pass through the House floor... AS SOON AS NEXT WEEK! I repeat, KOSA and other censorship and surveillance bills in the KIDS Act package could pass through the House floor AS! SOON! AS! NEXT! WEEK!
And the fact that they're doing this on the last few days of Pride Month and before July 4th, on a year that will mark our nation's 250 birthday, should send a huge slap in the face to everything we stand for as Americans. How can we call this country the 'land of the free' when these MAGA right-wing fascists in power who don't stand for anything our founding fathers stood for are gonna have the power force us to live in a 1984 dystopia, probably forever, with the help of those idiotic Democrats who won't stand up to them just because of those bills' sweet-sounding names?
Seriously, I'm sick of this! This is NOT how I want to spend my adult years. I'm SICK of these congressional members who don't give a fuck about what will happen to kids, especially queer kids given we're under a very anti-LGBTQ right-wing administration, making everyday life harder for us. We have GOP politicians trying to repeal gay marriage protections, trans genocide bills, and now they wanna force websites to KILL END-TO-END ENCRYPTION just so they can spy on kids and everyone else? WHY does the 2020s have to be this miserable?
With every fiber in my body, I HATE every single one of those smug politicians (Richard Bumenthal, Marsha Blackburn, etc.) who act like this is 'for the children' when they know damn well it'll just make queer kids kill themselves faster than they already are under this administration. My desire to do horrible things to each and every one of them grows by the second because this is not only a personal attack on me and everyone I care about, but also an attack on everything that makes the internet a safe haven for people like meâespecially when real life treats us like shit.
And this is happening around the same time KOSA was recently being buried in a separate bill that is trying to prevent states from putting regulations on AI. The way they added the same dangerous 'child safety' bill that will do more installing surveillance online, on social media, on video games, anywhere digital, and have nothing to do with protecting kids to sweeten the deal... that should show you how fucked things are gettingâlike adding arsenic to candy and calling it "protection." They hate that we have freedom on the internet so much that theyâre willing to do ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING to rip it away under the guise of âprotecting kidsââbullshit!
Any idiot, any parent who doesn't want to do their parenting job, who hasn't seen the history of political attacks on LGBTQ+ people and other minorities in recent years and have read those bills will fall for them hook, line, and sinker because of the 'for the children' excuse, just like they did with the Patriot Actâand look where that got us. Fucking surveillance state. I wanna scream. I wanna rip my hair out. I wanna shake these dumbass parents who don't see past the 'protect the children' bullshitâdo they not realize these bills will make it so much easier for the government to track every single thing their kids do online by forcing us to give up our IDs to prove we're adults in order look up anything on the web?
For fuck's sake, it's not protectionâit's control.
This government wants to know EVERYTHING about what we do, what we say, even where we live, just like fucking Orwell warned us. And yet here we are, about to hand it to them on a silver platter.
We already have parental controlsâthird-party apps, built-in OS settings, even ISP-level filters for Christ's sake. But no, none of that matters, these assholes insist the only solution is to gut encryption, mandate backdoors, and turn every platform into a panopticon where every DM, every search query, every fucking breath online gets logged and flagged. I can see it now: some algorithm scanning teen group chats for "suspicious" slang, automatically reporting LGBTQ+ kids to their abusive parents under the guise of "safety." How many bodies will it take before they admit this was never about protection?
Maybe if parents stop and think before giving their kids a smartphone, complete access to the world, and assume zero responsibility for monitoring their own fucking children, we wouldn't be here. But noâit's easier to scream "won't somebody please think of the children!" while handing them a device loaded with predatory algorithms, then blame encryption when little Timmy stumbles onto PornHub at 3 AM.
'But Spectrotica, the internet is the reason kids are becoming depressed!'
Yeah, sure, Susan, and not the fact that queer youth get kicked out of homes at record rates under these policies, or that Gen Z can't afford rent on three jobs while watching billionaires launch dick-shaped rockets into space.
If you're so worried about your kids so much, how about you spend less time liking these fascist politicians' posts on Twitter and talk to your kids more? Your kids are YOUR responsibility, not ours. Buy your child a flip phone or whatever, anything that DOESN'T have the internet. Stop outsourcing parenting to Big Tech and the goddamn federal government. Either parent your kid or don't have one, but don't you dare turn my internet into a surveilled hellscape because you can't be bothered to check their fucking search history yourself.
Also, contrary to your claim, recent reports came out stating that kids who are online are LESS likely to kill themselves than those who are offline, because online is often the ONLY PLACE where LGBTQ+ kids and other minorities can find support and community when their own families and schools in real life have failed them. But no, let's ignore that inconvenient fact, because apparently, kids being able to talk to other kids like them and find resources without their abusive parents knowing is 'bad' now.
To those who DO give a fuck about children and digital freedoms, the clock is ticking. Go to sites stopkosa.com or badinternetbills.com. They have resources, pre-written scripts, and information on how to call or email your representatives to oppose this bill. You can also go to the House of Representatives' website https://www.house.gov/. There, you can find the direct phone numbers of every congressional officeâincluding your own representatives. Don't just tell them you do not want these bills to be passed, you do not want federal censorship and surveillance because you can see past those bills PAST their nice-sounding names, tell them that you will NOT vote for them this upcoming midterm election if they continue to keep prioritizing bills that will undermine encryption and online freedoms, and tell them you will vote for their opponent instead if they don't support age gating the internet. And you better start dialing before those smug fucks in suits vote away our future.Â
The reason why KOSA has been defeated two times in 2022 and 2024 is because of grassroots pressure from queer activists and tech freedom advocatesâpeople who refused to let them quietly sneak this through while everyone was distracted by the next outrage cycle. But now, theyâre bundling it with other "child safety" bills like a Trojan horse, hoping nobody will notice the surveillance state hiding inside until itâs too late. And I don't want to see any comments saying 'What's the use, calling isn't gonna work' or 'Nobody listens'. That is what they want you to think. So call them now and everyday like there's no tomorrow.Â
Spectortica, out!
The Trump administration is cynically exploiting calls for stricter AI regulation to pass broad censorship measures at the federal level.
So, in terrible news, Trump's trying to pull some strings to pass this massive internet censorship bill, featuring all the kinds of internet censorship we're terrified of, including mandatory ID for accessing basically any website, specifically to crush state regulation of AI, because apparently this man will always see the moral bottom of the barrel and start digging.
So, if you live in the US and hate censorship and AI you know what to do, contact your congresspeople and tell them do not fucking dare let this through or so help us god...

No surviving the porn ban
"Geez, it's just porn. At least nobody's coming for the landscape of my books."
"I think this is a good thingâpeople are too addicted to porn anyway."
"Porn rots your brain, so banning it is progress. Especially for children's safety."
"You wonât miss it. Go outside, touch grass."
"If youâre not watching porn, this doesnât affect you. You'll survive."
Right... right. Because nobody ever jerks off. Because censorship laws stop at "personal discomfort." Right.
...
...
...
No!
Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, will ever survive a porn banânot because porn is oxygen, but because bans never stop at the thing they claim to target. The people, the political right, and fascist organizations like the Heritage Foundation and the National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE) pushing these laws aren't moral philosophers; they're just uncomfortable, and that discomfort becomes law. Their entire argument boils down to: "I donât like it, so you shouldnât have it." That's it. No nuance, no consideration for privacy, no awareness of how easily this logic spreads.
They find porn distasteful? Okay, fine. But why does their taste get to dictate legality for millions of adults?
Also, the 'children' part? Yeah, I too as a queer NSFW writer/artist believe children shouldn't watch pornânobody wants children exposed to inappropriate material. But guess what? You, the parents, have already been given the power to prevent that without getting the government to burn down the internet. Parental controls exist. Password-protected folders exist. But this puritanical movement my community didn't ask for isn't about children, it never was. It's about CONTROL, it's about reshaping what adults do behind closed doors because someone else's god demands it. Using children gives them plausible deniabilityâwhenever someone raises concerns about privacy, they can just scream "BUT THE CHILDREN!" and suddenly you're the monster for questioning it. That's the playbook. That's always the playbook.
Those who say stuff like "You'll survive" clearly don't get it. Survival isn't the pointâfreedom is. When the alt-right factions that currently hold sway over our government speak negatively about the concepts of obscenity, when they criticize pornography, they are not merely targeting adult websites like Xvideos and Pornhubâthey are fundamentally attacking the very essence of freedom itself.
Their rhetoric isnât just prudish discomfort; itâs a calculated erosion of autonomy. Every time they frame something as "obscene", what they really mean is "unacceptable by our standards". This means anything that we, particularly as minorities, hold dear but which the right deems obscene just because it challenges their narrow conception of normality or anything that evokes discomfort in their worldview, is at risk of being banned, wiped away from existence.
I'm gonna remind you that they've already succeeded in going after sex workers back in 2018 with FOSTA/SESTAâlaws that forced platforms to purge adult content "for safety," but only made everything more dangerous. Then came the VPN crackdowns, the age verification bullshit that forces biometric data collection just to access legal content. Every step is a foot in the door, testing how much they can take before people scream.
Now, today's target of fascist censorship under their sweeping definitions is pornography, but tomorrow's may be erotic literature (even those with heterosexual sex scenes), then LGBTQ+ stories, followed by controversial novels (especially written by women), artistic photography, fan fiction, independent films, media, educational material, etc. Project 2025 serves as a clear illustration of this agenda. It aims to eliminate ALL FORMS of adult content, utilizing age verification mandates as a stepping stoneâfirst porn, then everything else that deviate from their white, Christian, heteronormative framework they want to deem "indecent", "offensive", or "harmful to minors".
They will never stop at pornography alone, they'll just keep moving the goalposts. The reasoning behind this draconian approach is deeply rooted in their perception of what constitutes decency, one ban at a time. The "morality police" don't just want to control what you watchâthey want to dictate what you think, what you create, what you discuss, and who you love or identify. In their eyes, the mere existence of transgender people, especially trans women (like yours truly), in public life is inherently pornographic.
Take Mary Miller, a Republican representative from Illinois who is a radical, homophobic MAGA puppet, as a case study. She has a documented history of anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric and legislation. She also co-sponsored a federal anti-porn bill: the Interstate Obscenity Definition Act (IODA), as well as trying to pass a law: H.R. 7661 (its copy already passed the House), to federally outlaw schools across America from supporting trans students and teachers, including books that feature queer characters and/or are written by queer authors. Her efforts based on her diluted mind demonstrate how the alt-right's moral panic extends to even the most innocuous representations of queer lifeâSFW comics or children's books depicting queer families living ordinary lives are viewed through the same lens of obscenity.Â
If you guys love video games or are even thinking about developing video games, don't even think you're safe. Video games, especially those with sexually suggestive content, female characters with realistic proportions, or same-sex romance options, are not immune from this puritanical onslaught; they too will be swept up in the ban under the guise of obscenity laws. This creates a dangerous precedent where any law designed to restrict pornography operates as a Trojan Horse for censorship of any content deemed "objectionable" by the right-wing moralists. Again, anything deemed contrary to their moral compass will be categorized as obscene.Â
Consider cultural touchstones. Do you guys love Scott Pilgrim vs. The World? You know, a video game that's also a comic book series about a young base player and slacker who falls for a girl and has to defeat her seven evil exes? Well, guess what? This series features queer characters such as Wallace Wells and scenes showing Ramona Flowers dying her hair in bright colors as well as having a bisexual ex-girlfriend in her past. So under these laws, those scenes would be deemed problematic. So... BOOM! No more Scott Pilgrim.
Or what about Dragon Ball Z? An iconic anime series from the 1980s centered around a Saiyan named Goku who protects Earth from various alien threats? Sounds harmless, right? Wrong! This series also contains scenes that could be interpreted as sexual innuendo. Characters like Bulma, who wears skin-tight outfits and engages in suggestive humor, as well as Vegeta's battle armor being too form-fitting, would flag the series as "indecent" under their logic. And let's not forget Master Roshi's lewd behavior... BOOM! DBZ banned forever, another beloved franchise wiped from the shelves.
Are you also a fan of "Grand Theft Auto", "Conker's Bad Fur Day", "The Boondocks", "Robot Chicken", "1000 Ways to Die", "Bayonetta", "Street Fighter", "Metal Gear"... well, too bad. They will also fall victim to these restrictive measures due to their violent content. The alarming reality is that violence and pornography are conflated within Project 2025's framework; both are viewed as threats to societal morals.Â
This puritanical movement will also negatively affect the economyâentire industries that rely on digital platforms, payment processors, hosting services, artists, writers, programmers, designers, and countless other workers... they will collapse overnight. It's easy to forget that broad censorship laws create legal uncertainty that encourages companies to over-censor rather than risk penalties. The result is not merely the restriction of adult content but the suppression of legitimate businesses, creative projects, and forms of expression that happen to resemble whatever category lawmakers have chosen to attack.
Imagine Patreon, OnlyFans, or even Substack facing existential threats because banks refuse to process payments for "obscene material"âa term left intentionally vague. Yeah, entire livelihoods erased with the stroke of a pen. The ripple effect will gut freelance economies, leaving thousands jobless with no safety net.
This ideological stance reveals a profound misunderstanding of both concepts and demonstrates an alarming willingness to suppress creative expression in favor of a monolithic moral code. If you have never encountered the religious right's influence before, allow me to clarify: this struggle transcends mere concerns about pornographyâit's an all-out assault on entire cultures, particularly queer culture and sexual expression. It is about stifling freedom of expression and imposing a singular narrative that aligns with their beliefs.
If they succeed in implementing their agenda, we risk losing not just adult content but also diverse representations in literature, art, and mediaâessentially everything that does not conform to their rigid standards. Is this truly the kind of America we want to inhabit? A nation where only select viewpoints are allowed to flourish while others are systematically silenced?
NO!
So STOP making everything about your personal discomfort. STOP pretending this is about morality when itâs about control. Because once theyâre done with porn, they wonât stop there. Theyâll gut LGBTQ+ healthcare nextâalready happening in states like Florida and Tennessee. Then itâll be birth control, then IVF, then divorce laws. The endgame? A theocratic state where deviation equals criminality.
You don't have to like porn to see the danger here. It's not about the contentâit's about the precedent.
The same lawmakers pushing these bans are the ones who've spent years chipping away at LGBTQ+ rights, reproductive freedom, and even basic sex education. This isn't a coincidence. It's a strategy. They're not coming for just one thing; they're coming for everything that doesn't fit their vision of a "pure" society. Anti-porn is anti-freedom, and a fight against a porn ban is ultimately a fight for our collective freedomâfreedom that should include every voice and every story worth telling.
... PS: the 'porn addiction' narrative is pseudoscience.
The American Psychological Association (APA) does not recognize it as a legitimate diagnosis. This fabricated moral panic is pushed by religious conservatives to pathologize natural human behaviorâjust like they once labeled homosexuality a "mental illness", and that's what they're doing with trans people right now. Their goal? To justify invasive regulation under the guise of public health.
Spectrocia, out!
RED ALERT: THE RISE OF INTERNET CENSORSHIP!!! đ¨đť
Hey my fellow degenerate writers, Spectrotica here. I don't usually write political stuff on this site, but I REALLY need you all to be aware of this because this involves our digital freedom to write and post whatever we like on the internet, especially if you're queer or an NSFW fan.
The U.S. Congress is trying to pass internet regulation and age verification bills that include KOSA (Kids Online Safety Act), SCREEN Act, Trump America AI Act, App Store Accountability Act, COPPA 2.0, Parents Decide Act, FAKES Act, etc. These Trojan Horse 1984-styled bills that our dumbass lawmakers are so highly obsessed with will KILL the open internet as we know it and mass censor every website that we as Americans thrive on, all in the name of "protecting children's online privacy", and the full House committee have unfortunately passed the 19-bill package as of February of this year called 'the KIDS Act'. And to add salt to the wounds, they're also planning on getting rid of Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act.
To those who don't know what Section 230 is, it's a crucial law passed in 1996 that protects websites from being held liable for posts made by users like us. But now here we are, 30 years later, and they want it GONE! Without Section 230's protections, websites like this one would face lawsuits if this government finds whatever shit we like to post offensive, and the owners will have no choice but to either remove our content, or, have their websites cease to exist. That's what our unhinged politicians want for us, they want us to suffer in their dystopian wet dream without digital entertainment.
And they're doing it; because they're claiming that it's to 'protect children from Big Tech's influence', but in reality, they're trying to control everyone's free speech and freedom on the internet, particularly LGBTQ+ people and NSFW creators, because many Democrats we've trusted in Congress (including the majority of leftist users) are failing to understand that these garbage plans to "protect children" is a smokescreen for the conservative right to eliminate the existence of queer people, NSFW writers, and other minorities from the internet, as part of their fascist Mandate for Leadership: Project 2025 agenda to label every single site they personally don't like as 'harmful to minors' and have them forcibly removed. All because they would rather allow their disdain for sex workers and pornography blind them from seeing the bigger picture: this crusade will lead to the destruction of ALL of our digital rights. Porn today, queer people tomorrow, and eventually everyone else.
So, who am I?
Just an exhausted transgender woman who's a cock-addict, male-on-male writer and have just found her true calling on AO3 and Pixiv while coping in this cishet, fascist dystopia we're forced to live in, and now... they want to take that away from us too.
The irony is almost comedic: the same politicians who scream about 'freedom of speech' are stripping away ours, the same ones who clutch their pearls over 'protecting kids' are actively erasing ours. Like fucking shut up!
My mind hasn't stopped spinning since last December after watching the Democrats' egregious plan on introducing a new federal bill to gut Section 230. They seem to not give a damn about how much this would hurt all of us, and would rather keep believing in their fucking made-up fantasy that any of these bills would actually protect kids, when in actuality, kids will just find a way around them as they always have, while queer people and NSFW creators alike, will suffer the most. It's always US, the adults who just want to make a living on social media, who have to be punished and pay for what lazy parents have wrought, all because they bitch and whine about what our content does to their kids, when they should, I don't know, USE THE DAMN PARENTAL CONTROLS! Like HELLO!?
It's not just the internet either, they're trying to cement this shit into law, bill by bill, vote by vote, with no second thought as to its consequences. The Democrats have been turning their backs on us more frequently now than ever before, and the fact that we can't rely on them anymore is absolutely sickening. Even the Republicans who claim to be "pro-free speech" are just waiting in the wings to push their own Orwellian shitâcensorship under the guise of "decency," surveillance under the banner of "security," and control packaged as "protection."
Meanwhile, not many people (including big-name LGBTQ+ orgs) are talking about this looming disaster, too distracted by performative rainbow capitalism or midterm election-year optics. But I scroll through Bluesky and X and see the panic spreading tweet by tweet. I'm sure by now that fanfic writers are archiving entire libraries, artists scrambling to watermark and back up decades of work, and NSFW modders for games are quietly shifting operations offshore. This is an underground pipeline of survival that queer kids have used for decades to find community when their schools, churches, and families failed them.
Somewhere in Texas, a 16-year-old is downloading every trans healthcare guide they can find before the archives vanish. In Florida, a bi furry artist is encrypting their Patreon sketches just in case. And me? Iâm in Virginia downloading as many gay porn videos, fiction stories, and artwork to have them saved in my files, because I'll be DAMNED if I let these homophobic fascists erase our entire history in a 1930s Germany book burning level.
I can't express enough how FUCKING SICK I am of these unhinged boomers and their goddamn moral panic crusades! Like, newsflash: you donât get to decide what the entire internet should look like just because YOU failed to monitor what your crotch goblins are doing online! Maybe, just maybe, if these privileged fucks back in 2018 had listen to whom they like to call "alarmist" leftists when we warned them about the slippery slope of SESTA/FOSTA instead of patting themselves on the back for "preventing sex trafficking", we wouldn't be in this mess right now! But here we are, in 2026, staring down the barrel of their "think of the children" bullshit while they actively burn every bridge queer and NSFW communities have built for survival. Â
Listen up, because this isnât rhetorical:Â CALL YOUR REPS!!!
Call them every single fucking day! Flood their offices until their phones melt. Tag every "Democratic" politician whoâs cozying up to this censorship shit and remind them they work for US, not the goddamn Heritage Foundation. Screenshot their empty platitudes about 'protecting marginalized voices' and throw them back in their faces when they vote to erase us. This isnât just about smutâitâs about whether queer teens in Alabama get to find PDFs of "The Transgender Teen" before their parents kick them out, or if disabled artists can still monetize their niche porn commissions when Patreon folds under legal threats. Â
I'm watching people, mostly Gen Zers and Millennials, beginning to talk about KOSA and other similar bills. But meanwhile, the Human Rights Campaign and the Trevor Project are still not saying a word about it. Wake the hell up. This is how fascism win: by making us too exhausted to fight while they chisel away at our rights in increments so small theyâre almost imperceptible. Until one day you wake up and the only "safe" internet left is a sanitized wasteland where every search for "gay" redirects to conversion therapy pamphlets. Â
And yeah, I know. It feels impossible. But remember: fascists didnât burn the Weimar Republicâs queer archives in a day. They did it while everyone was too busy arguing over "respectability." So grab your fucking matches. Archive everything. Spam every legislatorâs inbox. Print out zines and leave them in bathroom stalls. Do whatever you have to, because I will not let them pretend we didnât exist.
Spectrotica, out!
