Spectres’ Fulcrum

I really love the first kiss in ep 3 and how it reflects two major parts of the KinnPorsche relationship. Drunk, Porsche is playful and giddy. And it is such a huge part of their love that Porsche gives Kinn space to show who he is without Kinn the Mafia Heir, without airs and expectations. He can be spoiled and playful, he can be a regular 21 year old college student(Novelverse - obviously TV!Kinn is a lot older which is overall better but I like the vibes of everyone being college students), he can just game with his trusted friends with Porsche in their bedroom and there's no judgements.

Porsche is normalcy and laughter to Kinn and I'm really glad we got to see Kinn marvel at that bit of Porsche, let Porsche convince him to lay down on that dusty dock so early on.

But for Porsche, Kinn is safety. Kinn is no longer having to be the strong macho-ish man he thinks Chay needs him to be. Kinn is the first person he lets himself lean on in a very long eight years. Kinn can be the person to lead because Porsche trusts him.

And we see the first bits of Porsche trusting Kinn with the vulnerabilities of his rough childhood, of why this was all so hard. He starts to trust Kinn with the burdens.

I spent almost all of Ep 2 giggling and shaking my head at his antics lovingly. idk when the little shit endeared himself to me but he apparently did. He's really just a brat.

The one exception was Macau because he's my sheltered spoiled brat and Porsche needs to stay away from him. I love how Macau loudly cried to Gun, but it's Vegas he ran to, who tenderly checked him over. It speaks volumes of the minor family and their true dynamics, and who actually loves each other(Vegas and Macau, always and only, Gun just acts like this in public)

(Okay and Porsche was really an idiot for drinking on the job but like he's my idiot now apparently????)

Back to watching on my computer I suppose. Or my tv but it it super uncomfy watching things with subs on there with my bed position

TBH I was worried stuff might feel weird after listening to the novels twice(Well once and 95%) but it is still sooo top tier

Apo and Barcode feels so much like siblings I didn't notice that the first time around. Porsche loves Chay so much it's the sweetest

I do not understand why the TV series insisted Chay had to be isolated away from Porsche because in the books, Porsche spent his off days at home and when he was hurt/busy Pete took over caring for Chay until Chay moved to the compound and so like ?????

I am going to struggle with TV!Chay so much after Novel!Chay

But Porsche jumping off the boat all dramatically... That's Khun's future brother in law right there.

They were too nice to Uncle Arthee but that's just me :/

Kinn... Honestly just love Kinn.

We maxed out in the 600s for AQI yesterday and was in the 400s when I woke up.

I honestly think my plan for the day is just going to be watching KinnPorsche. Even something like House Flipper 2 seems like too much work right now.

Honestly I was grinning so much. Khun Thee, always the overdramatic drama king. I wouldn't trade him for the entire world. But also super proud of him noticing that Peach missed being a photographer and encouraging him to take the restaurant job. You got a tiny bit of a grip, Kian.

(You really want me to think Peach didn't take his camera everywhere they went on vacation and photograph their memories, though, really? Really, GMMTV?)

I am kinda disappointed Rome and Mok got together during the timeskip but their kisses! The way they love each other! Honestly waiting for RomeMok to get together has been keeping me going since like. Ep 5. (I need fanfics about Mok sneaking into Rome's room though)

(Also my favorite small moment was Marn and Mork running up to Rome the second he walked in and him wrapping an arm around both of them. We know he doesn't go to Thailand often but they so very clearly have bonded in what little time is allowed/Facetime. Marn and Mork deserves their 2 uncles and Auntie Plub of course)

Tawan and Aran... A lot have changed. Still weary and I get why Aran is worried to start dating again, but they were cute all smiley.

The actual plot... Interesting. I wonder if the line from the trailer about Rome taking over only if Thee is dead or incapacitated happened during the meeting from Rome's reacting(But not Thee's) or if we'll get that later on. But I definitely wonder now if Thee drowning Rome is him preparing Rome to step into a role Rome was never intended to take(At least Mok was prepped to be the leader's right hand man).

The quiet and soft bedtime talk with Thee and Peach after the meeting was a huge highlight. Their healthy communication is one of my favorite parts of MAT.

Then why the fuck do Vegas and Porsche not know each other? Even if Porsche changed to a cheaper school at 12 after his parents died, that’s still 7 years where they could’ve been in the same class or known each other. Even if they had no mutual friends.

Was their international school just that big they never knew each other’s names? Never ended up in the same class for seven years? Did they both have horrible memories? There was 50-60 people about in my grade in elementary school and I know I would recognize every or almost every single name I went to school with for a good chunk/all of those years. We were spread out via two classes and did a TON as a big group.

I stand corrected in my post yesterday. Apparently in novel verse, Vegas and Pete have known each other since childhood! I thought they didn't because Vegas didn't know where Pete grew up and it was only mentioned that Korn took his sons to visit Pete's island on business and they became close with Pete and his family, but apparently Pete, Kinn, and Vegas(at least) all played together at some point in childhood.

The major family probably hosted the Saengtham family in Bangkok(With the minor family attending dinner or smth) once or twice when the kids were young enough that the cousins ran around together and caused trouble. I'm think like in the 9-11 range or smth. Vegas probably didn't care where the guests came from, just knew of course the cute Southern boy liked his cousins(and not him)(By now Tankhun and Kim has complained a ton about Vegas to Pete and at this point, Pete's just a holiday friend so he has no reason not to be dubious).

Honestly, it's kind of cute to imagine Pete and Vegas knowing each vaguely other as kids, and it's mentioned that the kids all grew apart a bit as teens because life got busy and Korn didn't visit as often so them meeting again in their late teens with Pete as a major clan bodyguard. We need more childhood acquaintances to adult lovers fics.

I missed this bit in my first listen but in the novel verse does this imply the Theerapanyakul family have known Pete since childhood? Definitely at least his grandma, but it says families.

Definitely gives context to why Tankhun gives Pete such a grand funeral. Tankhun is also super close with Pete's grandparents. Like they go so far back.

Honestly, I really like this bit of lore and hate myself for not catching it the first time(I just wanted to be back with Vegas and Pete ngl). Definitely strengthens my headcanon that once Vegas and Pete starts dating Kinn and Khun insists Pete use Phi with them because he's officially family now.

(Now I'm thinking of Gun and Vegas tagging along once and Vegas seeing Pete for the very first time when they were young even if that breaks canon)
