Fed up Because Benfica Loses - A Rant
Okay, as a Benfica fan (who's not into soccer, but really more into motorsport), I have to be honest as I'm frustated.
So... you probably don't know, I'm not into soccer but I'm a Benfica fan (though I'm also a motorsport fan), but I'm also annoyed because of Benfica literally losing.
Because they can't learn from their past 2020s mistakes, Schmidt, Mourinho, and their latest loss with St. Gallen. It just literally annoys me how a successful team would just lose to another one, let alone playing with struggles, especially with some of their previous losses from some other matches (yes with Mourinho as a disaster in their Champions League run). And since Mourinho's departure to Real Madrid, Benfica got a recent coach, and of course, their UEFA Europa League went awfully with their 2-1 loss over St. Gallen. If the coach is to blame, he's likely going to be learning. You might wonder why they lose in some matches, is most likely the players that weren't do well, and I don't understand why. Like, they are in a successful team and are supposed to score some more goals like THREE or FOUR of them.
If Rui Costa's likely to blame, he's going to likely step down in years so. If everyone's the blame at running the team, they also need to step down and have replacements, and need a complete fix for an successful team. If the players are playing poorly, they should've actually improve themselves, their skills, their playing and their experiences with the team. The fourth part might be a learning for them.
Christ, both Bruno Lage and Schmidt were flawed, and even Mourinho's experience wasn't successful. Mourinho didn't do well for Fenerbahçe and the team went to fire him, and now he ironically went to Benfica. But later he went to Real Madrid. I was even fed up of how Benfica's poor results went which is what I made about this in a serious nutshell.
I swear, they are likely desperate for a man as a coach who can do right things. Think of when Jean Todt, the man who ran Peugeot Sport, did for Ferrari in F1 especially for Michael Schumacher. All he did took years to make it successful as Schumacher won races for Ferrari since 1996, and even taking titles since 1999 for constructors, and 2000 for drivers. Nowadays, similarly to what Benfica does, Ferrari in F1 struggles (and that's not even new), especially with Hamilton. If anything, Benfica could've just learned from what Jean Todt did. Not for the recent era that Ferrari is going through in F1.
And Ferrari isn't the only one. Mind you, the original Lotus F1 team (THE one that had Pedro Lamy who later came to score a point with Minardi in 1995 and had great drivers such as Ayrton Senna and Nigel Mansell), Tyrrell, Brabham, Williams F1 and even Benetton also used to be known for success before struggling to win races in later years.
The original Lotus F1, Tyrrell and Brabham, all three vanished, Williams still exists, and Benetton is now Alpine (Team Enstone). Even other sports (and especially soccer) had teams that stopped being winners after winning in decades. Manchester United for example, struggled and especially for Ruben Amorim (Sporting's former manager), and fans are fed up seeing them losing.
At this point, I'm really fed up of Benfica losing and I wish someone should've done right to bring important decisions for the team to win, and a complete fix for the entire team. Or maybe I could probably virtually do it in a manager game myself. It's hard to root for Benfica like how it's hard to root for Ferrari F1, isn't it?
