Students who have their appeal letter and supplemental documentation submitted by March 31 will have a decision by April 17

I submitted my application the 3rd week of October, my application status continued to state that is was under review. In the middle of December it changed to state additional information was needed. I called the admissions office and was told they had everything they needed and to not do anything. It now has changed to state they need my first semester final grades. Is this a deferral or will my application still be reviewed for possible acceptance?
A request for more information (like first semester grades) is an opportunity to improve your chances of admission. Your counselor is asking you to submit your first semester grades and then they will review your file again. If you elect not to submit new grades, you will not be reviewed again.

In most instances, the application for admission, including the required personal statement, is sufficient for award consideration. My application portal said my application is being reviewed and has said that for the past 3 days. Do you know how much longer I will have to wait to get a decision?
Admission decisions are typically made eight to 12 weeks after all application materials are received.

Submitting your deposit holds your place in the incoming class and allows you to register for a required Academic Orientation Program. The deposit is refundable until May 1, so you would have until then to change your mind about enrolling.
I am a Jr. at MSU but was not accepted into the ENG College. How often are decisions overturned if I appeal? I struggled but want to continue my major. Currently at a 2.5 gpa.
You should meet with your adviser to discuss why you were not admitted and how you can gain admission at a later date.

My daughter applied to MSU in late October but needed to retake the ACT. This was submitted in the second week of November. She has an overall GPA of 3.5. She was asked to submit her 7th semester grades which will not not be available until the end of January 2018. Her GPA has risen every year from 9th through 11th grade. I am assuming if she achieves at least a 3.5 that will be a positive for the second look at her application?

If I have already been accepted to State, can I somehow change my major to Lyman Briggs? Or should I have made it my major when I sent in my application?
Once you’re admitted you can just change your major on your account. Keep in mind, if you’re trying to switch into a residential college there may be a wait list since they have limited enrollment.
What are the indicators of potential for having your acceptance rescinded? If I switch out of an AP class (ending this semester in HS for the class with a B or B-) for next semester, but still maintain a 3.9 or higher GPA, will this affect my acceptance?

Roommate selection is typically unavailable to those who sign their housing contract after May 1, even if you are accepted to Michigan State University after that date. The Housing Assignments Office will have more information. They can be reached at [email protected] or (517) 884-5483.
Hi there! I was recently accepted to Michigan State and filled out my FAFSA in early October. Will financial aid and scholarships be given out earlier to those that were accepted before me? Is it based on solely how early you applied, or your financial need?

Do you consider interviews for freshman admission" If so, how could I schedule one?

Hi, a week ago my portal said to send in new test scores. I signed up for the December 9th ACT, but today my portal says my application is under review with my counselor. What does this mean? My ACT (21) was kinda low, but my GPA is high (3.9). I applied August 27th.
