omg okay so let me just yapppppp about this for a minute because honestly crafting ur own clothes is literally the best thing ever even if it takes actual years of ur life to finish. like okay, why buy boring clothes from the mall when u can make something that looks so incredibly niche and cool? if u have a free weekend and ur just sitting around watching movies or listening to music, u should totally try doing this because it is so relaxing but also u get a sick outfit at the end of it.

let’s talk about the button shirts first because they are so full of whimsy and look like something a cool fairy would wear in a forest. u just need a basic tank top. literally any old tank top from ur closet or a thrift store will work. then u need buttons. and i don't mean like three boring white buttons. u need A MILLION BUTTONS. big ones, small ones, shiny ones, wooden ones, literally whatever u can find. u just lay ur shirt flat on ur bed and u start playing around with them like a puzzle. u can make cute little flowers by putting a big button in the middle and surrounding it with tiny buttons, or u can just scatter them all over the strap like sprinkles. when u sew them, u just push the needle from the inside of the shirt to the outside, go through the button holes, and go back down. BUT PAY ATTENTION !! do not pull the thread super tight !! if u pull it too hard, the stretchy shirt fabric is going to bunch up and look totally crazy and warped when u try to put it on. just keep the thread loose and relaxed, and tie a gigantic knot on the inside so it doesn't fall off when u wash it. IT TAKES LITERALLY FOREVER to finish a whole shirt but the vibe is so worth it.

then for the second look, the lace belt thing is so fast and looks so early 2000s. u don't even need to sew anything for this one !! u just need a long strip of vintage lace or a lace scarf. the biggest secret to making this look good is how u wear it. DO NOT TIE IT STRAIGHT AROUND UR WAIST !! that looks boring. IT HAS TO SIT SUPER LOW ON UR HIPS and drape down at a weird diagonal angle over ur jeans. just tie it in a super loose knot on ur hip bone and let the little strings and lace tassels hang down. if the lace is slippery and keeps falling off ur hips when u walk around, just take a couple of safety pins and secretly pin the lace to the belt loops of ur jeans from the inside so nobody can see.
