one thing i find strange about TERFism and trans-criticism is how much of it is just attractiveness politics. it seems to be the leading talking point. sure, make your points on sexual dimorphism or biological sex differences (which any normal trans woman is fully aware of already, mind you. the average transsexual is not claiming she’s experiencing period cramps lol) but so much anti-trans discourse seems to just be “well you’re ugly so you’re not a woman and i feel unsafe.” which seems…. so counter-productive to your movement. trans women, like any group of people, are nowhere near exempt from criticism, but what is the point of putting so much emphasis on such an empty and invalid viewpoint? so much of feminism seems to hark on how men only respect women they find attractive, yet the majority of your breath is spent on here pointing out physical characteristics that you seemingly think invalidate someone’s identity. how does having broad shoulders, a wide jaw, and a five o’clock shadow somehow equate to being a predatory rapist? it’s a mindset i’ve never understood. obviously it’s prevalent outside trans discourse, people just generally seem to equate ugliness with evilness, but you would think a group of individuals who posture themselves steeped and rooted in theory and academics wouldn’t weaponize such a vapid and vague talking point. (not to say only terfs do it, your average Internet Man absolutely loves to dunk on the fuckability of any given trans woman at any given time, but….. fork found in kitchen.) idk, i’ve just always found it odd. like i’m sorry but i just don’t buy into the idea that you’re supposed to be reasonably terrified of someone in a public bathroom because you think they’re ugly. i think you might just be an asshole.

i am soo fond of a steve harrington that used to regularly make out with his male friends and jerk off together. he just thinks it's Normal Guy Stuff and so it takes him ages to realize he's bi. even when he stares at eddie's mouth and wonders about what his dick looks like, steve thinks it's all just a typical part of being friends. he thinks eddie is the closest male friend he's ever had so of course the feelings are stronger than they were before!

eddie who learns that the only way he can seem to get any romantic attention is by leaning into his own bad-boy criminal stereotypes and playing it up for the occasional bored suburban girl who likes feeling rebellious or "getting back" at her parents by fooling around with him. they don't see him as anything more than that and they wouldn't like him very much if they tried to but hey, at least he gets to feel wanted in some capacity every once in a while. even if only long enough to get the defiance out of their systems and then toss him aside when the thrill wears off 💔

this is actually driving me crazy cause like it's his dad? it's his dad. he's mimicking his dad on every level to pick up chicks and it works and it makes him want to die. he's teaching spoiled little girls who have never wanted for anything in their entire lives how to shoplift and hotwire cars and break and enter without getting caught and he's doing it all with al munson's winning smile and surface level detachment because it's the only way they'll let him put his hands and his lips on them, and they'll hold onto him for a while like he really matters. and then it's over and the high wears off and the self-loathing floods back in, and even though he wants to die, he knows he'll do it all over again the first chance he gets.

currently cooking dinner in smurf’s kitchen but i had to run over and grip andrew’s face with a loud “this fuckin’ face, so fuckin’ handsome, gimme a kiss.” before placing a loud, wet one on him <3 his ears are red and he’s trying to hide a smile when deran jokingly coos at him. <333
