Hello from 107 Camilla! Like I did last edition of @spacerockvision, I'm deciding my song by hosting the second edition of Almostvision! Almostvision is a national final composed of songs I almost sent to contests at one point, but for whatever reason I did not. Let's see the songs and why I didn't send them:
1. The5 - "Hannini" is a song I almost sent to Tmblrvision 2018. I initially claimed Lebanon with the hope of internally selecting one song (now representing Lebanon in alternational), but realized after claiming the country that it was a hair too old, and had to frantically find an alternative while in Cuba. Eventually Bosnia & Herzegovina, one of my backups, freed up, but if it didn't, this song would have represented Lebanon in Tmblrvision 2018.
2. Sena Dagadu ft. Sarkodie - "Yo Chale" was one of my main backups in Tmblrvision 2019, when I claimed Australia. I started planning a backup national final for Hungary, and this was the song that prompted me to have Hungary as a backup. The artists are from Ghana, but Sena Dagadu lives in Hungary as an immigrant.
3. Majedalesa - "Hwages" is a song I planned on sending to Politivision, but the contest never returned.
4. Crimer - "Hours" is a song I first heard not long before Tmblrvision 2020, when I had already planned to send Yarkhushta for Armenia. I debated a lot whether I should send this instead, since I thought this would do better, but I liked Yarkhushta more.
5. Bon Entendeur ft. Isabelle Pierre - "Le Temps Est Bon" lost my national final for the French edition of languagevision after the most stubborn tie I have ever had in my entire life. So I'm giving it a second chance.
6. "OUCH!" - Nxdia is a song I was excited to include in my national final for Genrevision, both because of the Arabic lyrics and because it didn't seem as risky to send as my other options, but everynoise sorted it out of the escape room genre before national finals opened, making it ineligible...

Signups for the fourth edition of Spacerockvision open in less than 7 hours, at 15:00 CET today!Β (convert to your time zone here) This post will detail the information you should be familiar with before signing up and claiming your songs. Thanks to getting sick at the last minute, I was unable to get this post together sooner; hopefully this information is still getting to you in time to make your choice. All the info is below the reading break!
- SIGNUP INFO -
The signup form should be submitted FIRST, and has two main sections:
Questions 1-4: Identifying information.Β I will ask for your name, Tumblr URL, Discord tag, and a choice for which platform you prefer to be contacted on throughout the contest. You only need to have a Tumblr OR a Discord account to participate, but if you have both, please put both so I can credit you appropriately on both platforms. If you put only one, I will likely credit you by your name on the other, so please make sure the name you enter on the form is something youβre ok with being posted publicly - it can be your real name, a screen name, a nickname, or anything else that I can reasonable use to keep track of who is who.
Questions 5-9: Your choices of space rocks.Β You are required to put at least 3 choices for which space rock youβd like to represent, and you may put up to 5. The rock you choose does not affect which songs youβre allowed to send. The previous winner already claimed 511 Davida, so the 37 space rocks listed below are up for grabs:
- SONG CLAIM INFO -
Since there is no reason a given song should represent any particular space rock, songs must be officiallyΒ βclaimedβ before they can be internally selected or presented in a national final. You cannot post anything about your selection until your song claims have been submitted and approved. First, letβs outline what can and cannot participate in the contest.
The following are permitted to compete in Spacerockvision:
- Original songs
- Covers, remixes, and new arrangements of original songs
- Mashups or medleys that combine multiple songs into a standalone piece
- Poems or other pieces of text set to music
The following are NOT permitted to compete in Spacerockvision:
- Videos or audio files that do not contain music
- Albums or playlists of multiple songs
- Videos or audio files that string multiple songs together without combining them into a standalone piece
After deciding which song(s) you want, you can fill out the song claims form. This should be submitted AFTER completing the signup form, but you do not need to have received your allocated space rock yet to fill it out. You can complete the song claims form immediately after signing up, and your desired songs will be properly received.
The form will ask for your name (and your space rock if it has already been allocated), followed by a text box for you to enter the songs you want to claim. You can separate multiple claims with commas or by putting them on separate lines, as shown below. The songs you claim will be kept on a private list to ensure no two space rocks have the same song.
You can fill out the form as many times as you like, so donβt hesitate to come back to it multiple times if you want more songs. There is no limit to the number of songs you can claim, but please be reasonable and donβt take advantage of it. If I notice youβre claiming an absurd number of songs with no plan for them, or youβre claiming songs just so others donβt have access to them, your desired songs may be revoked and a limit on song claims may be imposed next edition.
There is also a question for whether you will allow me to copy your national final from the platform you post it on (Tumblr or Discord) to the other platform.Β
IMPORTANT CHANGE:Β After signups and song claims open, I will wait 24 hours before assigning anyoneβs space rocks and song claims, and I will do so in a random order. This is to ensure that participants in all time zones have the same chance of getting their desired space rocks and songs. Song selections and national finals CANNOT start until after this 24 hour period is over.
That should be everything you need to know! Once again, be sure to fill out the signup form first, then the song claims form. If you have any questions, send this blog a DM or join the Discord server and ask there (though with such short notice I probably canβt get to them until right before signups open at 15 CET). I hope youβre all excited for signups to open, and Iβll see you then!
After a three-year wait, Spacerockvision is finally back for edition 4! Signups are opening this Wednesday, 23 March at 15:00 CET! (Convert to your time zone here)
As the reigning champion of the contest, @esc-is-for-eurovision got to make the first choice of space rock to represent in the upcoming contest, selecting the previous winner and current host,Β 511 Davida!Β The other 37 space rocks are up for grabs when signups open this Wednesday. More details about signups and song claims will be posted in the next couple days, but if youβve participated before, itβll be very familiar. Here is the outline for the schedule of the contest:
23 March:Β Signups open
14 April:Β Song submissions due
17 April:Β Song reveal show
28 April:Β Votes due
30 April:Β Results show
And finally, Iβm happy to announce that Spacerockvision has a new official Discord server! From this edition on, the contest will be run on Tumblr and Discord simultaneously, meaning you only need to be on one platform or the other to fully participate in the contest. The Discord server also has the full contest rules, an archive of all previous editions, and channels to talk with everyone else. If youβd prefer to follow the contest there, or want to chat with the other participants, click here to join!
Thank you all for your patience, Iβm so happy to be back and I canβt wait to see what you have in store!
