The Struggle of the Smuggle

"So... How would you feel if I stayed here tonight? Nothing funny; we stay in separate rooms. But that way, I can see that you go to bed." She was pushing her luck and she knew it, but there was just too much temptation to call his bluff.

On the way to the bar, E points towards a machine. "Last time we played that game." It was Bubble Bobble, but he and K had played more than that. "Ah, and there is a fighter game. I'll remember we get here then." Arriving at the counter E ordered for them: "A long margarita for the lady and I'll have a white Russian."

When there drinks came up, Ricky thanked the bartender and put a tip in the jar. She looked over her novelty cup. It was a fun neon pink with the name of the arcade written down the length in holographic letters. There were images of game characters plastered all over. The straw was bendy with a little smiling cat as the cover cap.

She took a sip of the frozen beverage inside.

"Mm, they mix 'em good here; tropical fruit." She didn't mention it but the burn of the alcohol was also plenty noticeable which she appreciated.

They made their way back to the machine they came across earlier and set their drinks down to a nearby small counter.

She browsed the character selection carefully when they approached the machine. After a minute, she chooses a cute girl in a blue dress with buns in her hair.

E was right about to give her his mind, but she moved on and so did he, because he liked what he had heard. "We should go to this Arcade K once took me to. They had old games, new games, it was a lot of....fun." He stopped petting Blake and he could move around freely, instantly jumping on Ricky's shoulder. "But I can't go to the Arcade," he said clearly disappointed. "You can't," Rick confirmed.

Ricky brightened again when E suggested the arcade and even a little more when Blake comes back over to her.

"I would love to go, arcades are always a good time." She gave a quizzical look however, reaching up to pet Blake some more. "Why can't Blake come? I bet we could make him seem like some kind of service animal?"

"It's out of question. I would gladly go with you, but Blake has to stay."

And Blake knew. He would come along hidden as always, unable to join the fun.

Blake flies into Rick's face leaving a funny sight for Ricky. Quite understandable though, since E didn't seem to care about Blake right now.

"Riiiiiicckkkk."

She stands up herself, starting to pick up the plates from the takeout. "Alright, now is good. Let's clear this up really quick so you don't get ants." She didn't wait, taking the dishes to the kitchen sink.

"Really?! That would be nice."

E set Blake down to help Ricky. "If I get ants it's because of the stain on the carpet," he teased. "You can leave the pillow here, I promise ou can get it after."

He was hurrying and just put it in the sink.

"Alright, done. I'll get something real quick and then we can go. If you want to say goodbye to Blake, you should now."

She grabbed a vial from her purse, dumping an enzyme on the stain. It was developed for blood but it would absorb any organic material and disappear without leaving residue. She would explain this if E complained, but if he was heading into another room, he might not have even noticed her.

In the other room Blake and Rick moved along with their usual procedure and Blake hid with Rick.

"You're as cute excited as you are grumpy, but I think I like excited more."

After they went through they were met by the ambiance lights and the sound of buttons pressed.

"I am glad I get a chance to come here again." He wouldn't forget when K took him there and the small time they spend at the beach near the arcade.

Ricky looked around as they stepped through, feeling a little bit more excitement now that they were surrounded by the sounds and lights.

E looked around to find the game, but turned to Ricky.

She didn't need to drink to have fun, but it sure never hurt anything for her.
