Britain will become the first country in the world where it is impossible for children to take, share or view naked pictures on their device

Basically the plan would require big tech companies (google, apple, et al) to have a device-level ability to read your messages, and see photos and videos you send to check for nude images and etc.

You'd have to age verify to stop this, but who's to say they would actually turn it off.

And then there's HOW they'd check pictures and videos, I assume AI. But but AI is faliable, look at what we go through with tumblr's AI that brings up false mature flags on innocent images. What happens if it does flag an image? Can you simply not send it, or will there be harsher repurcussions?

They say it will "not affect the use of devices owned and used by adults that verify their age", which sounds very "if you have nothing to hide" (be good and comply)

Also privacy issues. Will it be handled by the companies themselves, so that when a breach happens, they are the ones held accountable for it rather than a third party? And, the overall amount of breaches verification providers have had since this all started makes me unsure of the idea.

Ok so, looking closer, it DOES NOT specifically state that it would read through texts and etc in the plan. That is speculation on my part and I apologise

But it feels like that if its monitoring all photos and messages and etc because how else do you monitor it if not for that. It just...this plan feels very...letting tech companies have free reign to monitor everyone. They've probably been waiting to do this for ages to get people's information, and now they finally can without any legal issues.

They have until September to do it which feels very rushed considering that gov page does not specify any guidelines for the companies. Also apparently the companies have do it "without threatening privacy or collecting any data" which uhhh i don't know if they're capable of that.

I'm trying to find a scene from Gotham and i SWEAR i'm not hallucinating it I swear I saw it in a clip compilation that I can't seem to find anymore, why can i not find it anywhere else T_T

It's of Lee having a dream/nightmare of Mario bleeding into a glass for her to have and he tells her something along the lines of "take your medicine" and I'm rewatching s3 and I have NOT come upon it yet. Maybe its in 3×20 onwards???
