for those who donβt know 20% of Georgia is still occupied by Russia. In 1992 we lost Abkhazia THROUGH A WAR (this information is being spread false and many think that Abkhazia chose to be an Autonomous Region, which of course is not the case) where thousands of people were killed and forced to leave their hometown. This violence continued and after the second war in 2008 Russia took South Ossetia from us!!!
on 20.06.2019 Georgian goverment decided to invite Russian criminal βpoliticianβ Sergei Gavrilov in parliament to have a speech. This made the whole nation angry, 10 000 people in Tbilisi went immediately on the streets and demonstrated against occupation and the fact that Russian violent policy was handed over to the highest stand of Georgian parliament. There was a big protest against our authority who is manipulated and controlled by Russia, which lead to people getting punished and physically assaulted (by an order of the Georgian government) because of demonstrating!
It is clear that Russia has planned a rebirth of the Soviet Union, which means gulags, slavery, oppression, misery and georgian people are fortunately smart enough to recognize it. Sadly as a small country against the biggest one, the only thing we have right now is our own passionate and fighting spirit, since the media coverage of this situation is not accurate or present at all.
yesterday Putin banned flights from Russia to Georgia to show power over us. This is going to affect the social welfare of many many locals whose daily income will decrease drastically. Our citizens already started campaigns of spending holidays in their homeland, however this wonβt be enough. To increase diversity in tourism and support our economics NOW is the best time to consider visiting Georgia.
