You're not required to maintain problematic conversations for the sake of arbitrary social graces. I frequently cut comms during conversations with adversaries. Learn to say, "I've had enough," and begin to leave. If the other side becomes hostile, use that as fuel for your exit.

You are capable of great things, even if you do not believe it yourself. I believe in you.

You are not required to be polite to someone who is actively harming you. I am an inherently civil man but I say neither "Please" nor "Thank you" to an enemy when firing my ship's weapons to defend myself and my crew.

Toxic positivity is a threat to well-defended boundaries. That's why those without respect for boundaries push this faux positivity so hard, to use it as a battering ram. Do not allow them to break through. You are allowed to be your true self and true to your needs.

If you feel that you don't fit well into your community, perhaps that's simply a sign that you should seek or build a new one. Others of your shared mindset will happily join you. You aren't as alone as you think.

I'm so proud of everything you do to fight for a better world, even the tiny things you think don't count. They very much do count, as do you.

If we encountered a ship that took shots at our shield systems, we would immediately do all we could to strengthen those shield systems. Likewise, if someone tries to shame you for your reasonable boundaries, increase your boundary defences.

Don't put up with repeated unpleasant behaviour/words from people who show no signs of wishing to improve. You are not responsible for educating every adult in your life on how to treat you with respect. If they don't know, you are not required to maintain a friendship with them.

You do not owe terrible people your ear to shout into.

Nothing is safe if only the needs of the privileged are considered.

Do not accept criticism from those whose advice you would not dare heed.

Always defend yourself, your needs, and your boundaries as if you're defending a very dear friend.

You were a child. It was not your job to keep you safe, especially from the adults whose job it actually was. It wasn't your job to keep the adults safe either. You were a child. It is not your fault.

Hiding your trauma from yourself and others doesn't make it go away, not even over decades. Trust me on this.

If you observe someone casually lying to and/or backstabbing others, assume they are likely doing the same to you, especially if they emphatically assure you otherwise.

Learning to defend yourself can be very daunting at first. But the more you do it, the better you will feel and the more natural it will become. You may even notice over time that awful people rarely bother targeting you anymore, which helps your self-confidence to blossom.

Being sensitive is not a weakness. It is being attentive and responsive. It is actively using sensor data. People will use "sensitive" against you as a pejorative but they are wrong. Being attuned to your environment is a strength. Your detractors are wallowing in ignorance.
