Why @spacecath​ picked it: “[This story] is a beautifully written oneshot with Jane Eyre vibes, featuring a battle of intellects between Ben and Rey that reflects a very relevant dispute for that era between Thomas Paine and Edward Burke (where Paine is basically pro-revolution, and Burke is very conservative in his reflections). The title is taken from Paine’s important work Rights of Man. @sciosophia ‘s world building is masterful, and the attention to detail almost unprecedented - her dialogues are fabulous, there’s a whole stream of thoughts behind each and every one. It’s like a beautiful piece of music, like that Handel’s fourteenth concerto she mentions (which I love so much, so seeing it mentioned warms my heart).”

Destination Wedding AU | Rated M | Chapters 3/3 | 13825 words

When Poe called off their engagement four years ago, Rey promised him that she’d go to his hypothetical future wedding to show that there weren’t any hard feelings. Now his wedding is actually happening, and he had the gall to hold it on a remote estate in Georgia. To top everything off, she finally meets Ben Solo, Poe’s cousin/sort-of brother, and he’s not as much of an asshole as everyone always said.

He’s worse.

Unfortunately, she’s starting to kind-of like him.

Why @spacecath picked it: “I have a soft spot for this one, for it was in a way my prompt… Or not exactly a prompt, but a product of a convo on Twitter that started while I was watching Destination Wedding and tweeting how Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder ARE middle-aged and disillusioned versions of Ben and Rey. I mean they even look like them, honestly. So Casey asked if anyone will write the fic, and when nobody volunteered, did it herself, and it’s really great!”

Well, here we are! Winter has come and these Bears are ready to hibernate!

His favourite crotchety octogenarians - Ackbar (bagpipes in tow, naturally) and Maz - got a ride in from Leia, whom he hugged closely and whispered in her ear, between clenched teeth before she pulled away. “You promised.”

His mother nodded and winked as she walked inside the party.

She’s going to ruin it for sure.

The park rangers showed up as well - their hockey rivalry was always buried for the holiday season. Hux and Phasma had apologized profusely for their involvement with Snoke’s plot, neither of them aware of the old man’s hidden sinister purposes. The Christmas tree was the last of their many peace offerings. The two gravitated towards Jones and Ren. Instantly, the volume in the room doubled.

Within minutes the house was full, loud and hot. It was Christmas.

Death and the Maiden High School AU

Seventeen-year-old Rey ends up in a drunk driving accident caused by her boyfriend Poe Dameron. Her world turns upside down when Death himself (starring one and only Kylo Ren) appears out of thin air to take Poe and she decides to stand up to him. Surprised by her vehemance, Kylo makes a deal with her to let Poe go and take her instead. And then he decides to stick around…

Summary  of Rey’s instructions to Kylo on his first day at school:

“Stay visible. Don’t leave my sight. Oh, yeah, and the most important thing: don’t kill anyone!”

Don’t Feed The Bears - Chapter 19

He kept her still in his lap, kissing her slowly and softly as he draped the duvet around them both.

“Ok we really do have to go though sweetheart. My mother will ruin this turkey, without a doubt, if I’m late.”

“Hey don’t give me that business. This was your doing entirely.” She felt him smile into the hair gathered at the nape of her neck. “I believe we were in the middle of a serious conversation before you lured me back into your den of sin.”

“You don’t expect me to have you naked in my bed and not do something about it, do you?” Ben nipped at her shoulder gently with his teeth. “Besides, it’s only a few hours and then we can come back for desert,” he added with another soft kiss before standing them both on up their feet.

Rey beamed at him while he made his way to the bathroom. She snuck a long peek at his delicious round bottom.

“Join me?” he asked over his shoulder.

As if there was any way she could resist!
