I went to the Festival du Fil in Brussels today! I've now got a lot of yarn shops to add to my yarn shops list.
The theme really seemed to be indie dyers that use natural dying methods. I wanted to find some assigned pooling yarn but that wasn't on the table. Also no spinning fibres whatsoever.
Some pics:
after months of creative silence i am honored to present you this

Knitting update: BOTH SLEEVES ARE DONE! So turned out I am stupid and had not in fact knitted too far on the first sleeve but actually had 3 more rows to go and because of that I had to attach some new threads lol, and I didn't weave in a bunch of them on either sleeve as I went because there were so many decreases happening I was going a little mad, which means I still have a bunch of work to do before I can even put it all together, let alone washing and blocking but!! Getting there!!!
And for those of you somehow only just seeing this:
The pattern is the Weldons A794 Lattice Fair Isle, you can buy it on Etsy. It's a vintage pattern which means its knit flat in panels you then sew together. It's a mix of fair isle and intarsia, and no it's not possible to do this in the round. I started this in...June? I think? So it's been A While.
i made pair number ten
yarn is from the lichen and lace january sock train. colorway is midwinter glow but i don't believe it's available online. toes are leftover malabrigo ultimate sock in frank ochre. no pattern idk man it's socks.
I went on a little shopping spree at The Sated Sheep in Dripping Springs, Texas.
They have a wonderful selection of yarn and tools, and the employees are delightful. I can't wait to get these suckers on my needles!

Forgot to post the (mostly) finished piece!
I actually finished this up on the day that I last posted about it. Here it is after its blocking. The pattern is the Milk Punch hat by Thea Colman, and the yarn is Magpie Fibers Quartet Worsted in the colorway Smoke and Mirrors.

I finished the quilt! I finished it Christmas eve morning with just enough time to wash it and photograph it in the brief daylight.
I gave it to dad this afternoon, along with some new light blue sheets to go with it.
A super fast and super cute knit. The lucky duckling was my first Dot Pebbles (Claire Garland) knit and it will definitely not be my last!
