your f/o has a rough heart, an undeniable troubled nature to them. they’ve been through insurmountable pain, a trauma so deep you can barely put the pieces together in your head. on top of that, they are extremely guarded, not allowing anyone to witness the internal damage they have. yet, they seem to soften in your presence. when you’re with them, their inner turmoil subsides; they ease up, even if they don’t outwardly show it. things are simply more grounded, more manageable, with you there.

on particularly bad days, they know that you’re the one constant that they can find comfort in. with your arms wrapped around them, you try your best to console them any way you know how. maybe that’s a gentle reminder of how much they mean to you, and their impact on the world. or maybe it’s simply sitting in silence, letting them experience a quiet moment of tranquility. regardless of what you decide to do, your f/o recognizes how much effort you put in to make them feel slightly less tormented. words can’t describe how much they appreciate you and the level of care and love you show them.

you become their driving force, their inspiration. the thought of you is what keeps them pushing forward; knowing that you are there, waiting for them at the end of the day. even with all the hardships that they have went through, and continue to go through, you are the one thing they can find solace in. you have become their sanctuary, a person they truly feel at peace with. they are forever grateful that you entered their life. to gaze upon their scars and say “i see your pain, i see your suffering. and i will love you, despite it all.”
