     perfuma didn’t notice anything out of the norm with flutterina as she surprised the younger rebel — simply offering them a bright, beaming smile in response. “i know! exciting, right? it’s nothing too huge from what i can tell, but still! all missions are important!”  at flutterina’s mention of glimmer, the princess gave a small, somewhat strained smile. 

     “ oh, well, you know glimmer! always.. coming up with ideas on the fly! ”   perfuma felt her eye twitch ever so slightly. she liked and cared for glimmer, truly, she did! but these sudden missions where she was just.. pulled from her daily rituals were getting a little.. exhausting.  “ she said we’re heading to erith! that’s actually not too far from my own kingdom! ” 

sheesh. and double trouble thought that flutterina was the picture perfect image of everything that was sweet and good and pink. maybe they should be watching perfuma a little more when it came to pushing saccharine. oh, but don’t think they didn’t notice that little twitch, princess; that’s a good sign. glitter’s under a lot of pressure right now anyway, and adding all their hard work to that, the wedge forming between her and the rest of the rebellion is a beautiful thing to watch happen in real time. 

          “Listen .  .  . I can try to get them to lay off, but only if you do too. We are only here cause of your charades after all.” It wasn’t like Sam wanted to be there either. He’d much rather still be at his last school on the east coast instead of some fading town in the back of the woods — so far out of the way that they barely bothered with street signs. “Just make sure that you aren’t our next job, cause you step out of line once and my family won’t hesitate on pulling the trigger.” Dean would have pulled it long ago — maybe the second their conversation started — but now Sam wasn’t too sure if that would have been the right choice. “I’m serious.” 

“ Oh —— I’m really sorry. I don’t think it’s supposed to fly out like that. ” Her ears a bright red beside her uneasy smile as dark eyebrows creased together. Nervousness twists her stomach at the comment, as though she’s expecting something a bit harsher to follow, but it’s rude to expect that! Maybe they’re just a little grumpy from having a mysterious item thrown at them. “ I, uh, promise I’ll warn you next time. I’m not really sure what this thing’s supposed to do. ”

“Once upon a time I had hoped she would.” Countless nights were spent trying, thinking of all the ways that she could get Catra to see the error of her ways. To show her that Bright Moon wasn’t like anything the Horde said it was and that she could have a chance to prove herself there. 

“After everything she’s done now though?” Adora shakes her head. “She has made her intentions clear and that is to stay on the side of Horde.” Or more so to gain power and control. It only felt like yesterday when she and Catra were nothing more than cadets. Now here she was as She Ra and Catra the Horde’s second in command. 

“More importantly I’m done trying to get through to her. She wants to harm my friends? I’ll harm her right back.”

hm. well, that’s not all that surprising, if a bit disappointing. they’d heard second-hand business about the whole portal thing ( and had hazy memories about the weird alternate reality that had existed as a result: something they didn’t really appreciate, thank you very much ), but to think that it appeared to have completely shattered adora’s end of whatever had been between her and catra...well. all information was good information, so they’d file that away for later. 

she   knows   she’s   n̲o̲t̲   supposed   to   go   in   there.           she  knows  that  is  the  wrong  thing  to  do                                        and  she  knows,  far  too  well,  that  this  is  the  exact  opposite  from  what  glimmer             ,             bow          and  anyone  of  the  princesses  would  have  wanted  her  to  do.                           and  still…    there  she  is.                              her   presence   into   the   room   solemnly   introduced   with   the   sound   of   a   single   door   opening   before   her,                                         its  creak  resounding  into  the  back  of  the  darkened  room.                         before  her               there’s  only  a  single  figure,                           the  green  silhouette  enlightened  by  the  magic  symbol  that’s  lit  up  at  their  feet:                        double  trouble.                             though  unwillingly  so,                they  are  exactly  who  she  wanted  to  meet.

without  waiting  a  second  more,                  adora  welcomes  herself  in,           and  immediately  shuts  the  door  behind  herself,        before  making  her  way  towards  their  direction.

unsurprisingly ( to the members of the rebellion, at least ), double trouble is exactly where they’ve been left, lounging about on the plush chair stuck in the magic circle with them. while the door opening isn’t a surprise—ooh, could it possibly be glimmer trying to get more information? excellent: needling her is always a fun time—the trademark blonde ponytail does cause them to raise a single brow. they didn’t get many visitors in general, but the fact that it had taken so long for her to come see them...is piques their interest.

     “ oh, flutterina! there you are! ”    sticking her head around a corner, perfuma couldn’t help but smile broadly at the sight of the smallest, newest member of the rebellion. flutterina certainly had managed to earn the respect of the princesses quite quickly, it was almost surprising. still, the young rebel seemed passionate, and perfuma looked forward to really getting to them, and it just so happened, glimmer had offered her a perfect opportunity! 

     “ glimmer is sending the two of us out on a mission together for a change – yay! isn’t this exciting? now we can really get to know one another and really BOND! ”   moving forward, perfuma linked her arm through flutterina’s, offering a bright, beaming smile.

    putting on flutterina’s trademark ‘bright eyes and big smiles’ routine is practically second nature at this point, but perfuma actually startled them a little—brightmoon is huge, and knowing just where all the important stuff is an essential part of subterfuge, so they’d been sneaking around a bit before perfuma caught them by surprise. still, flutterina is the picture of innocence to the pink princess, only replacing happiness with intrigue at the news. a mission? with just them and perfuma? what exactly was queen glitterific thinking...?

          “So you’re telling me .  .  . you’re marking your territory?” Sam supposes it’s not a bad idea, it is a sure-fire way to scare off anything with capable thought and a will to live. But it also just so happens to be a hunters magnet, they would come in groups for a job this big and that alone could be messy. They’re drunk, loud, assuming, and often bring in trouble of their own (he can’t think of one he’s met that didn’t have something following them around every corner).

          “And what the hell would I even tell them? Hey, guys — those three separate monster rumors were totally fake, just trust me about it? You know! Even if I did tell them, that’s not gonna stop anyone else from coming in. We’re not exactly the pillars of the community.” Dean would sock him a new one for this next part. “Maybe it’d be in your best interest to get outta’ here. My dad and brother are a little more shoot first, ask later than me.”

‘ well, that’s a crude way of putting it, but if that helps you, then sure. ’ they preferred to think of it as nailing a big ‘FUCK OFF’ sign right at the town’s borders ( as if that was much better ), but dt isn’t about to ruin the foundations of what could be a brilliant play—kid or not, a hunter who was willing to leave them alone ( or at the very least not shoot them dead ) wasn’t something they were about to throw away.

they’re Constantly aware of how they look and how they’re moving, even when not in disguise

they lounge around like they fuckin pay rent when they’re comfortable

usually their entire posture just screams either ‘i don’t care’, ‘i’m better than all of you’, or ‘PRAISE ME’

if they actually had more of a conscience, they’d want to make people laugh / feel emotions from their performances

‘ oh, kitten, you flatter me. ’ is she still mad at them ? honestly...double trouble had made it quite clear in the beginning that it was nothing personal, and it hadn’t even seemed like a big deal at the time. of course, they’d always been self-serving, and catra knew that. still...it maybe wouldn’t do to have her permanently annoyed at them. 

‘ listen, i said i was sorry. how was i supposed to know that those ration bars were yours ? ’ other than the fact that the food had been in catra’s room, hidden under a wayward bit of metal in order to explicitly prevent theft. whatever. the bars hadn’t had her name on them, which meant they were fair game. 

they hadn’t even tasted all that good, really: double trouble was certainly not indoctrinated by the horde’s nonsense to believe that ‘grey stuff’ was any sort of good substitute for actual food. but speaking of—they may have the solution to this ‘angry cat’ thing.
