the thing about night vale running for over a decade is it gives a chance to see people grow and change at a reasonable pace. it's obviously less clear how long of a span it is when you're bingeing it, but you watch cecil (and others but he's the clearest) change his opinions and become more caring and compassionate, at least on an individual level. not a lot of shows get that because once they've been going that long things become a mess
