Farts and Crafts

I had a pretty strict deadline for this cosplay so I started making it a couple of months in advance, which is quite good for me.

Except for the part where I procrastinated on the wig and ended up doing it the night before, whoops!

I'm very happy with how it turned out, especially with it being my first time doing a covered zip, top stitching seams, and knife pleats.

I followed an amazing pattern by Cospayton, and it was so nice to use a pattern for a cosplay instead of tracing random clothes I own and hoping for the best.

The hat/wig however was back to my old ways of messily drafting a pattern and hoping for the best, and luckily it turned out! My poor sewing machine did suffer the most in the end, sewing through layers of faux fur and stuffing.

I'm also happy that I managed to get half of the fabric second hand, including the faux fur so better for my wallet and the planet♡

I still have some smaller details I'd like to add before breaking it out again for later cons, including some decals, ribbons on the arm and leg warmers, and securing the hat/wig.

This bonnet is a modified version of the Big City Bonnet I made for my Rainbow Bunny Bonnet~

I picked up stitches on the bottom edge to create the kind of jester collar Kuromi has. Also added ears with sewn in pipe cleaners to get them to stand up. Finished it up with some handmade pom poms (that are slowly falling apart oops!) on the ears and collar points!

I'm currently working on a matching My Melody bonnet but struggling with how to do the ears~

I knit two of these for a joint clown costume with my friend~ it was a fun knit but definitely under time pressure! I think I should've used a stretchier bind off to help with the curling~

I modified the pattern by making the bonnet wider and added long bunny ears on the side! The ears can display pins and badges as well~

The pattern I followed was originally for a fish hat but after making it, I remembered I don't wear hats :/

So I turned Guppy into a bag, and added another bag into the body so the knit wouldn't stretch out too much~

This is the most complicated knit I've done so far, it was a lot of fun and I finally learned to knit in the round! my next project is to make the matching scarf~
