in the year of 2025 (granted its 2026 now) seeing such awful media literacy was not in my cards, can't we all agree on the fact that book 2 (as in 5 books book 2, idk what book it was for 8 books) was comprised of a hefty series of misfortunes? no one is truly to blame for the xianle 3 fall out.

xie lian was being psychologically tortured by j*n wu and having vivid hallucinations and believed no one was believing him; overprotectiveness and loyalty was probably drilled/beaten and internalized into feng xin from being his bodyguard, and he has always seen xie lian as a prince even after xianle fall - so its understandable that to see xie lian like this, it puts him into full drive mode. a reminder that fx didn't want to ever leave; but xie lian was Going Thru It and it was no ones fault! as for mu qing, i believe anyone who critiques his actions would do the same thing: would you prioritize someone you technically owe nothing over your single living family member who is entirely dependent on you? people act like caring for his mother is a sin 🥹 yes, chasing xie lian away was hurtful and i truly felt awful, but as it is later revealed mu qing had to choose the lesser of evils (in his eyes): have some money and backing to support fenglian + xl parents or risk his position and not be able to help. perhaps he should've stayed in the name of friendship but in his perspective, his every suggestion was being shot down. then if you look at it from fxs perspective, it was humiliating to suggest to someone who was pure of heart to steal; and from xls perspective, they were supposed to be together forever.

lets not forget everyone was young then, in contrast to their 800 year old lives, being in their early 20s (and imo, im sure their ages varied) was like an infancy period of their lives. they were young and reckless and stupid and grieving. everyone had lost their home; the place they had cherished since their birth. gosh, we don't even know the fate of feng xins family...it was a shitty situation all around and the fact that these supposed 'fans' who claim to have the moral superior opinion over everyone and their mom clearly don't understand that not everything in life is black n white. its grey. every perspective has to be considered.
