I made this record when I was 19 with @justynstagram in Brooklyn. I’ve waited so long for it to see the light of day that I had almost given up on the idea that it would ever come out. Even after my recent departure from a label and becoming independent, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to release it as i had already pushed the songs so far out of my mind. I didn’t connect to them emotionally anymore. Recently I listened to the record in the middle of working on my next album, and I realized that while these songs are old to me, they still deserve a place in the world. Especially after all the hard work not only I put in but @iamchelseajade , @b_o_y_b_o_y , @_stoopsitter , @bettynarducci , and countless others put in. I’m happy to be independent, I’m happy to be free, I’m happy to have made all the wonderful friends and have such a wonderful team with me now. It’s been one hell of an uphill struggle since finishing this record and I’m so excited to have it finally be out in the world.
