Thoughts on having to leave: Austin, open para
austin-edwards-southern:
The whole time he was just sitting there he was basically just beating himself up and making himself feel horrible. He felt as though everything were going wrong and that his world was crashing down on him. There was no one he hated more at this moment than himself. If he didn't have her to live for he probably wouldn't even bother. He stood up and began pacing trying to get himself together. He wanted to see Sophie so bad, but he didn't want to have to say goodbye. It finally hit him how much truth is behind the words he's dealt with all of his life. "Goodbyes are always the hardest." He didn't know what to do next. What could he do? He felt like nothing would do anyone any good. He wanted to go see her. He wanted to just run to her and sweep her up into his arms. Hold her tightly into the night. Just be with her. Always. Run. Run with her. Just do whatever he could to not leave her. But how fucking selfish? That would be so selfish to do all of this stuff for him. What about her? Isn't this why he wasn't going to see her? To save her from the heartbreak? But what if she wanted to see him? What if he was hurting her by not going to see her? Everything was so confusing. He didn't know what to do or what to say. Everything was spinning. His thoughts, his emotions, it even seemed like the room started to as well. He closed his eyes and thought. He just had to see her. He didn't care. Whatever happened, happened. Hopefully it would benefit them both rather than hurt her more. How could he possibly be helping her by avoiding her? He knows that would kill him more than anything. He'd just want to know. He wouldn't want to be pushed away. As he thought about this he began getting more mad at himself but for a different reason. What is wrong with you Austin? Were you seriously just going to leave? Just like that? You know you wouldn't have left without seeing her. You couldn't have! It would've been the most stupid mistake you would've ever made! You have to see her! You can't just abandon her. That'd be worse than saying goodbye. You're nothing but selfish. Austin is all you're focused on. How you'll feel. He couldn't help but to blame himself for every single thing. It was no one else's fault. He began trying to think. Why am I even leaving? What could the training offer that's better than this place? Here I have Soph. He realized how badly he just wanted to stay. He realized how much he loved it here. How much he'd miss this. How much he'd miss her.Â
Just as he nearly broke down he heard a noise. It was a low noise, coming from the door. A knock. His eyes shot to the door. He wasn't sure what to do. Who could it possibly be? Why? He decided he would open it. He hesitantly walked to the door and reached for the door knob. He unlocked it and opened the door. As soon as he opened the door he couldn't help but to smile. No matter how hate, anger, sorrow, and everything else he was feeling, everything went away. It was just her. It was always only her. He practically threw the door and let it swing open and he basically snatched her off of her feet and into his arms. He then just finally poured himself out to her. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry about not being around. I've missed you so much and I'm dying. I'm physically and mentally dying. Nothing is right. I don't know what to do anymore. But it's too late. It's too late to change my mind. I just..I didn't want to say goodbye. Not now." He buried his face into her shoulder and took in her scent. He continued holding her tightly, not letting her loose.
Every second that ticked by seemed to be hours. It was seconds before he opened the door, but it was forever to her. Millions of thoughts ran through her mind. The thought that he would shut the door in her face. That he wouldn't even open the door. That he would yell at her for something she did. That some stranger would greet her and give her the heart breaking news that he was already gone. Her eyes teared up as she heard footsteps and her heart seemed to drop to her feet. She waited and she waited. God, why did it seem like he was taking so long? Maybe it was because her heart had completely stopped now and everything had to go slow then, right? She had to admit that she was scared, terrified even. What if something happened to him? What if someone hurt him? What if someone threatened him? Just as she stiffled a sob, the door swung open.
She was quickly pulled into Austin's arms and that was it. She let those tears she had desperately held back fall and she clutched onto him as tightly as she could. She pressed her face into the crook of his neck, breathing in every scent that he had. She could barely hear everything he said over her sobs, but she still listened. She wanted to know the truth badly and she couldn't leave without hearing it. Her lips trembled uncontrolbly, as she tried to keep her sobbing noises down. She could barely muffle a sound and every time she tried, it came out as bubbly child noises. She let out a small, weak laugh as she realized how redicious she sounded. She then wiped her face with the back of her hand, offering him a small smile. "Hey, love. It's nice to see you, too." Her smile grew widely, as she gently ran her fingers through his hair. She planted little kisses all over him. His cheeks, his neck, his shoulder, anywhere she could reach. Words could not describe the happiness that was overwhelming her in this one moment. She wanted to hold onto it and not let go. She didn't want to let go of him more, though. She hadn't quite processed everything he had said, but they could worry about that later. Not now. Because in this one moment, all she wanted was him. She just wanted him to hold her and to not let go. Just for a while. Just for a small amount of time.Â
She planted one last kiss on his cheek, as she leaned away to wipe her face again. She couldn't help but smile at him. Seeing that gorgeous face of his always brightened her day, even if she knew this could be a last day she saw him. "Love, just breathe for a second. Just breathe." She smiled at him, barely giving him enough time to respond before she placed her lips against his. She didn't hesitate, not even for a second. If she couldn't see him much anymore, then she wasn't going to hesitate. Not now. It wasn't the time to. The time to was weeks ago, but now it was time to just feel. To just feel what she had for Austin.
Thoughts on having to leave: Austin, open para
Austin sat on his bed with his bags packed beside him. He slumped down staring at the floor beneath his feet. He felt horrible in side. He was overcome with pain and regret. He didn’t want to leave Southern, but it’s not like he’d be gone for good. It didn’t stop him from feeling like it was his last time being here. He stood up as she sighed loudly and let his eyes drift toward the window. He walked up to it and looked out. He loved this campus and he didn’t want to go anywhere. Unfortunately, he pretty much had to go. He was going to be training for the military and he wouldn’t be able to stay here as much. He would be back, maybe sometime in the future, but for now…For now he is gone. He felt his heart get more and more heavy with every second that ticked by. This was for one reason and one reason only. And the reason had a name. Sophia. She was the best thing that ever happened to him, not only at Southern, but in his life. It felt as though his stomach was twisting into knots as he thought about leaving her behind. He wasn’t really the one to cry, so he usually let out his emotions in anger. He could feel that his whole body was tense and his face was stern. If anyone saw him at this very moment they’d think that he was outraged at something. But he basically was. This thing was himself. How dare he even think about leaving. Not that he had much of a choice…But still. How could he? Why? Why would he hurt himself so bad? How could he hurt Sophie? How could her hurt his friends? All he wanted to do at this very moment was go to sleep. He just wanted to sleep, and it’d be even better if he never woke up. Then he’d never have to face what was ahead of him. He’d never have to face anything. He could just dream. Dream about her smile. Her laugh that never failed to brighten his day. Her hugs she’d give him whenever he’d get upset about his mom. Shut-up! You’re only making things harder for yourself! You love her, okay! But you’re the one who was too much of a pussy to tell her, and now you have to leave. Might as well not leave her with that. Don’t leave the burden of you loving her and leaving her over her shoulders! Austin punched the wall. He was so overcome with so many emotions, it made him angry. He wasn’t sure what to do now. He sat back down on his bed and threw his back of belongings across the room. “Fuck it!” he yelled. “Fuck my life. Fuck me.” He buried his hands into his face once again and sighed loudly.
Sophie had waited. She had waited for days, for weeks, for something. That something was Austin. It was obvious that something had been wrong the last few weeks. The fact that Austin had cut his conversations with Sophie down until there was none anymore. And he had completely stopped coming to class after a couple of days. She didn't see him around, not on the halls, not on campus. She wondered if he had just left. But, no. He wouldn't do that. It was obvious how much she loved him and of course he wouldn't do such a thing to her. Especially not without a goodbye. But why was he not speaking with her? Had she done something wrong? Had she said something wrong? So many thoughts wondered through her mind and she tried not to believe them. But it was hard. Hard not to blame herself for everything going on. She was beyond scared. Scared that the one thing that made her happy again, was gone. Scared that she had let herself fall hard for this guy and he wasn't going to be here anymore. She had gotten to the point where she couldn't focus anymore. Not on her studies, not on eating, not on anything. All she wanted to know was what was going on, if it was her fault, what had happened, and if he was safe. But that last thing, was the most important. And if leaving made him happier, she would let him go. She would have to let him do what was best for him and not her.
She hated to admit it to herself, but Sophia was falling in love with drinking again. With all the other things going on, Austin not being around worried her and it made her more depressed than she already was. She began drinking as much as she could, especially on the nights where she was at her worst. However, she would never tell Austin this. She knew it would worry him and she couldn't hurt him that way. She couldn't hurt him at all. But she needed it. She needed the drinking to forget and to get away for a while. In fact, the day she decided to go find out what happened was the day after her biggest break down. She had been drinking a lot and had many bottles spread out across her room. When she woke up that morning, she couldn't feel a headache or anything. All she felt was she had to go for him. She had to find Austin.
As soon as Sophie developed enough courage, she quickly jumped out of her bed and pulled on the closest clothes she could find. She slipped on some shoes, grabbing her phone and her car keys. She quickly shook her head as she did so, throwing her keys back in the room once she realized how close Austin's dorm was. She ran out of her room and took the stairs, figuring it'd be a quicker way. But it felt like forever. As soon as she was on his floor, she ran to his door. But, then, she stopped. A million questions ran through her mind then. What if he was avoiding her for a reason? What if she did do something wrong? What if he didn't want to see her? What if something was really wrong? What if he had someone else and was trying to let her down easily? Or the worst, what if he was already gone and she was took late? Sophie swallowed the knot in her throat and knocked on the door lightly, giving in to the fears she had.

austin-edwards-southern:
A smile slowly spread across his lips as he was engulfed in the moment. He felt her soft lips moving against his and he couldn’t help but to take her into his full embrace. He wrapped his arms around her back holding her in his arms. He let the kiss turn into a slower passionate kiss which made him get a bit more intense. He could barely think about anything. His mind was clouded with nothing but her and how great this felt. He still couldn’t process or understand how exactly he got her to kiss him.
After kissing her for what seemed like forever since he was so lost in the moment, he gently pulled away and smiled down at her. He brought his hand up and pushed a strand of hair away from her glowing face and then let his hand rest on his cheek. He was speechless as he stared into her deep brown eyes, but he managed to let out a quiet, nervous laugh.
Sophia slowly ran her fingers through his hair, letting her lips slow with his. She arched her back against his touch, leaning up on her toes to get closer to him. She let her other arm rest on his chest, laying that hand on the back of his neck. Her smile grew wider against his lips, as she let her happiness overwhelm them both. His lips felt softer now, making the temptation of never stopping that kiss grow rapidly. She couldn't help but feel her happiness increase with every second, as she wasn't used to the love that was wrapped around her.
Her heart dropped a little as he leaned away, but it quickly sped it once she saw his face. She leaned into his touch when he brought his hand to her cheek, letting her eyes close for a second. She allowed her hands to slide to his chest, curling her fingers around his shirt and pulling him closer against her. She laughed as he did, shaking her head a few times before giving him a light peck on his lips.
austin-edwards-southern:
His smile turned crooked as he felt her fingertips touching his cheek. He felt her put her hand behind his neck, and he figured that was enough. When she lifted their hands, and moved closer, he knew he no longer had to hesitate. As their noses brushed together, he could smell her breath. It smelled so sweet. Without another thought he closed the space between them, completely. His lips softly pressed against hers. He kissed her softly and slowly at first, trying to capture the moment. There weren’t words for his emotions.
He held onto her hand tightly with one of his, and placed the other one on the back of her head. He held her as close as he possibly could, practically pushing her against him, as he pressed himself against her. The whole world was completely shut out, and he was oblivious to the fact that they were still standing in the middle on a sidewalk. He continued to kiss her gently, slightly sucking on her bottom lip, yearning for more. The taste of her lips intoxicated him.
She sighed once she felt his lips touch hers, everything around them seemed to stop. There was no one else there anymore. It was just them, caught up in the most amazing moment yet. She moved her lips against his gently, brushing her fingertips across the back of his neck. His skin was so incredibly soft, not making her want to take her hands off him. And his lips. God, his lips were perfect. So soft and so gentle, with that small patch of force behind them. The only thing that went through her mind was, I can not really be kissing Austin.
But she was and she loved it. Letting her hand slide down to his chest, she curled her fingers around his shirt. She smiled against his lips, not being able to hold back her happiness. She curved her body against his, as he pressed himself against her. She let her finger brush over his lightly, as she softened her grip on his hand. She let out a low noise of pleasure, as he began to suck on her lip. She let her tongue sweep across his lips as he continued to suck on hers, her smile growing slightly. She turned her head lightly, bringing his lips closer against hers than before.
He couldn’t help but to smile much more when she spoke to him. His smile widened as she traced circles on the top of his hand. His heart melted when her expression brightened and her eyes closed. He wasn’t exactly sure of his next move, but he knew that there would be no more of a better chance than right now to do what he really wanted to do. He doubted his heart, because maybe it was too soon. Maybe she wasn’t sure what kind of feelings she had for him. But he definitely knew he was crazy about her, and maybe he would never get another opportunity as great as the one before his very eyes.
Without another thought, he slowly and very hesitantly began to lean closer to her face. He felt his stomach churning as he got closer. He’d never felt this nervous before in his life. Was that good, or bad? He wasn’t sure. As he was about an inch away from her face, he closed his eyes, but stopped moving momentarily. He didn’t want to force this upon her. He waited seeing how she would react before he took it any further.
She let out a small breath, allowing her smile to soften. She gave his hand a light squeeze, before stepping closer to him. She allowed her feelings to control her for once, going after for what she really wanted. And what she really wanted, was Austin. She was positive about this. She was nervous, but she had every reason to be. She was inches away from the most gorgeous person she had ever seen in her life, but she didn't feel nearly close enough. Her gaze drifted down to his lips, as he leaned closer towards her.
She let her fingertips lightly graze his cheek, a gentle smile playing at the corner of her lips. She let her eyes close, sliding her hand down to the back of his neck. She held his hand tightly in her other one, raising them so she could move closer. Their bodies were unbelievibly close at this moment, leaving no space between them. Except for their lips. She lightly brushed her nose against his, letting out a low breath that hit his lips.
austin-edwards-southern:
He shuttered in awe as he watched her bite on her bottom lip with her face slightly pink. He gave her hand a gentle squeeze, and he looked down at her, not watching where he was going whatsoever. He almost silently laughed, as it was a nervous one. He didn’t understand what was happening, or why, but he knew he loved it more than anything else.
He looked down in the direction she was, to see she was looking down at their hands. Instead of only holding her hand, he let his fingers intertwine with hers. He watched her smile soften, as he looked infront of them. “Of course not. But for the record, you’re more gorgeous than I could ever be. And, I think you standing next to me would result as nothing less than an improvement, considering how much more elegant you look, all the eyes will be fixed on you, distracting them from the repulsing sensation they’ll get by looking at this face.” Austin chuckled at first, but as she started to let go of his hand, he immediately caught grasp of her hand and pulled her into him. Her chest was practically against his own, and he looked down at her smiling. He wanted to say something along the lines of no don’t go, but he couldn’t manage to say anything. He just smiled down at her, looking into her eyes. He brought one of his hands up and softly touched her face.
Her eyes lowered back to their hands as he squeezed hers, her smile widening. She blinked as she hit a bottle on the sidwalk, averting her attention back to where they were going. But, of course, that didn't last long for her. She was soon wondering how his smile looked now and decided she'd just look herself.
She then watched his fingers intertwine with hers, making her heart race slightly. She raised her gaze back to meet his, as he spoke. Her smile seemed to cover her entire face once he was finished and she couldn't help but let out a small giggle before she could speak herself. "Darling, you just explained everything about yourself. But there's no words that could describe you. That sort of perfect can't be described." She brushed her thumb over the top of his hand, as he pulled her back to him. The touch of his hand on her cheek made her eyes brighten, but they soon closed. She leaned into his touch, bringing in the lightness of his fingertips along with the roughness of his hand that was still so soft.
