     “So, what happened today?” Cori inquired. “I could definitely kick someone’s ass for you.” It was a half-joke. Cori was in pretty good shape, but she hadn’t really been in a full-blown altercation before. Then again, it might be kind of fun, she figured. 

“No ass-kicking needed. I’m tougher than I look but that’s very sweet of you to offer,” Sophia told them with half a smile on her lips. She was able to deal with it already; she just likes ranting to make her feel somewhat better about it. “Just the same old stuff we get around here. Clients not knowing their boundaries and trying to get more than what they’ve paid for.”

he wasn’t used to sophia not obeying him. it was funny — he hadn’t seen her in so long, yet it felt odd that things weren’t the same as they had been. thierry’s expression darkened. “if we’re talking about wasting each other’s time, are you going to pay me for the waste of time the silverhall project was? the waste of money it was?” he stood up now; walking toward her with intent. he only stopped once he was within breath’s distance, his hand caressing her cheek softly. “all because i was sold out by somebody i trusted.” thierry’s fingers tightened around her chin and lifted it to make her look at him, rather forcefully. “why did you do it, baby?” he whispered roughly, his other hand sweeping over her hip. “didnt i pay you enough? didn’t i make you happy enough?”

“That I will agree with you on,” he spoke and chuckled softly. “Honestly, I haven’t had that many bad ones as of yet, but I’m sure you get a lot of horrible ones. Women aren’t usually that horrible to be around. A lot of them even just want someone to talk to. They’re lonely, you know? So, I guess I got the long end of the stick, huh?” he said and chuckled softly, shaking his head a little. A shitty day wouldn’t even be enough to describe it. Some asshole can’t understand the word no. I was this close on calling security on him. Instantly, Todd’s smile dropped and he narrowed his eyes a little. “Are you alright, though?” he asked and looked at her. “You know, if he did anything you’re not comfortable with, you’re allowed to call on security to pistol-whip the asshole,” he said and nodded confidently. Escorts had to have each other’s backs at a place like this and Todd honestly felt a little protective of people when he heard about them having a bad experience with someone. 

“You’re lucky. I don’t think I’ve ever been booked by a man who just wanted to talk. Not that I’m trying to be sexist, but it seems like men clients are more sexually inclined over here. If they wanted to talk to someone, they can always go to a therapist and I think that might even be cheaper.” Throwing him a reassuring smile, she waved her hand nonchalantly even though she was just ranting about this awhile ago. “I’m alright. Nothing that I wasn’t able to handle, but it still irked me a lot.” And she nodded her head at his reminder that she can always call on security. “I know, but I was able to weasel my way out before it came to worse.” Her short temper always make things look worse than they truly are.

“i want a report back from the nurse that you went to see them.” the brunette answered the other. giving the escorts the night off when they weren’t feeling well was the right thing to do. especially if she wanted to not have to deal with an angry client because their escort got them sick. no way in hell she was going to deal with that. “straight to the nurse, followed by bed and plenty of fluids.” she ordered of the other.

“Well when they constantly have a submissive on a leash, one would grow to have one,” Anais spoke as she crossed her arms in a nonchalant manner. When she heard the commotion from earlier, Anais elegantly made her way to stop it thinking it was two clients fighting again but this time it was her own worker. “Trust me. I’m not gonna get suspended for punching a client, am I? It was technically his fault.”

Cori nodded in understanding. “Sorry to hear that,” she offered, her tone sincere. “And you’re right. I’m pretty sure a prerequisite for bartenders is to have a psychology degree or something.”

Sophia shrugged her shoulders. “It happens.” A lot of times, but she didn’t add that, she already said more than she was meant to. “It is. I think they hear the best and worst stories in this place. They always know what’s going on.”

“I think it’s because they pay so much, they kind of think they don’t have to follow any rules.” Leah said softly as she looked over at the blonde. “It’s kind of sad thought, because I think for the most part they do get away with a lot.. I had a guy full on grab my butt earlier.. it was terrifying.” 

“They think rules are meant to be broken but a lot of staff do some rule breaking from time to time as well,” Sophia said with a scoff. “If you think that’s already terrifying, then you might not survive in this place.”

Todd laughed softly as he leaned against the frame of the counter, looking at the blonde who stood in front of him, obviously not too happy with what she had experienced with a client. Who do they think they are? “Sadly, they are our livelihood, aren’t they?” Todd spoke and shook his head as he glanced down at his feet and that was when he noticed one of the shoe laces had come undone. “I’m just guessing here that you had a bit of a shitty day, huh?” he asked and gave her a gentle and friendly smile. 

“Livelihood or not, a lot of them are freaking jerks,” she declared with an annoyed scoff. Sophia can be quite charming but that charm came with a pretty short fuse. With a dramatic sigh, she continued to rave, “A shitty day wouldn’t even be enough to describe it. Some asshole can’t understand the word no.” Putting her thumb and index finger together, she continued, “I was this close on calling security on him.”

an unkind laugh erupted from thierry’s lips. “it is a good evening, isn’t it.” and that was the extent of his good nature, because her angry expression was met with similar unhappiness; if not mild disdain. he watched her approach him, making no move to stand up from his seat. sophia was just as gorgeous as ever— perhaps even more; and despite his residual disappointment in her, the familiar burn of desire pooled low in his gut regardless. she was furious, yet that only seemed to heighten his lust. “what do you think i’m doing here, love?” he queried, raising an eyebrow. he beckoned to her with a finger, the way he used to when he wanted her in his lap. thierry knew she wouldn’t come easily, but admittedly, he liked a challenge. “come here, sophia, and stop frowning like that.” he wet his lips, letting his gaze sweep over her body lazily before meeting her eyes again. “let’s have a civilised chat, hm?”

“ mhm… keep talking like that and i might just do it, i do have a few better ideas, though ” he whispered in her ear, his large hand giving her ass a quick smack. “ why don’t we go upstairs to my room and you let me show you what bad girls like you get for talking shit, hm ? ” 

Yelping when she gave her ass a quick slap, Sophia quirked her brows as his eyes met hers. “I don’t think you’re gonna do it, not out here where everyone can see,” she taunted, her voice holding some challenge. “Why don’t you show me right here and now instead?” 

“Ignore them.” That was the simplest answer Poe had to give and then she thought about it. That was the only play on loop in her head answer. “But not really. Kill them with kindness, even when they’re being the biggest douche on the planet.” Laughing at the thought of what the other woman said, “They pay for a service and forget that service is provided by real people with feelings.” Raising her glass, Poe took a sip. She had it easy. She choreographed dances and for the most part escaped Indulgence unscathed every day but she’d seen how the escorts were treated. “Not every client is a complete ass. Only the one with the biggest dicks.” 

silas had to bite his lower lip to resist the urge to laugh. but the words that came out of her lips soon wiped the mocking grin sitting on his lips. instead, a smirk took its place. he knew exactly what she was doing but he would play her game. “ maybe i will. i could bend you right here over the bar, lift your dress and spank you until you learn some manners ” he chuckled. “ — but i think you’d enjoy that way too much ”

Not her fault that she was easily startled but she didn’t move away from him nor did she push his arm away from her waist. Her own lips easily curled into a smirk as she leaned forward. “Or maybe I won’t enjoy it as much and it will teach me some manners to not speak about my elders in that way,” she added with that mischievous glint in her eye. “You’d never know until you try.”

     “Uhh–” the hesitant sound slipped from Cori’s throat before she could stop it. Clearly this wasn’t a conversation she was meant to hear, but then again, it shouldn’t have been had so publicly, right? She hoped the other woman wasn’t confusing her for someone else. “Sorry…?” she went on. “You must not be having a great day.”

Sophia has been talking to the bartender without realizing that the person next to her could overhear what she was saying. Head turning to look at them, she shook her head. “Sorry, that was meant for the bartender. They’re great listeners and yeah, not the best day.”

“ well, i hope you’re not talking about me there ” the man whispered in the blonde’s ear, sneaking up behind her to surprise her. “ — unless you want me to spank your ass bright red for talking shit about me behind my back ” he added with a smirk on his lips, wrapping an arm around her waist.

The voice in her ear had her gasping in surprise as she snapped her head to look at him. “You almost gave me a heart attack! Don’t sneak up on me like that,” Sophia retorted sharply with a pointed glare. Tilting her head to the side as she relaxed once more, she challenged him, “And if I said I was talking about you? Are you going to spank me here in front of everyone else?”

Tzipporah had a long day and wasn’t sure how much worse it could get, considering she’d spent the day putting out metaphorical fires. Walking past an individual, she stopped, peering closer when they seemed quite upset. “Darling?” she asked, leaning down towards them, her heels clicking against the floor, “Are you all right?” 

“can a woman not have one private moment?” the brunette snapped as she bent down to pick  her jacket back up off the ground. “come on, i just want one minute to relax! what the hell is so urgent that i had to be disturbed?” she was a generally busy woman, it was simple that she would have wanted some time to just breathe. but the escorts often needed her, it was almost a seemingly impossible thing for her to actually have a moment to herself. “well are you going to come out with it? or just stand there?”
