zander just chuckled at his reaction, biting into his food to drag out another long pause, just to drag it out for the entertainment of it. “and people think i can’t keep a secret.” he answered sarcastically with a smile, not knowing if that was actually true but wanting to make the joke regardless. “we didn’t want everyone to know about it yet.”

zander laughed at the bluntness of his friend, nodding his head. “nothing new.” he shrugged, sipping his drink for a long few seconds just to drag it all out. “we have been for a few weeks.”

once he had an iced coffee and a bagel in hand, he sat back down with taeil, staying silent until everything was on the table and he was comfortable. “questions?”

zander had said he wasn’t going to tell, but by now he knew that yubin’s close friends had found out accidentally, and he couldn’t see the harm in one of his own friends knowing. “can you keep a secret?” he was half joking, but he wanted taeil to know not to bring it up to anyone else. “damn, alright. you made your point.”

“sorry, i’m late.” zander was casual in his apology as he shrugged his jacket off, leaving it thrown over the back of his chair. “i woke up late and had to come from- whatever, i’m sorry.” he chuckled, leaning round his friend slightly to look at the board of drinks in the cafe, seeing what he wanted to get. “you order already?”

“she’s had a busy day, i think she’ll be okay. right, sunny? you’re gonna listen to dad and be good aren’t you?” he asked with a laugh, his daughter nodding her shy. he nudged her a little and whispered something to her, watching as she reached over to politely rest her hand on choon’s arm for her attention. zander could tell she had something to say, and he was waiting for her to do so. “do you like the cake?” she asked in a small voice.

“she might get a little one, but it’s fine. she’s been dancing off all her energy anyway.” zander smiled as he spoke, not one to be overly fussy about things like that. once heesun was finished, she looked at the girl opposite her, tilting her head for a minute. “i like your hair.” she commented matter-of-fact, making zander laugh again.

“okay, just don’t tell appa.” zander shushed his daughter before kissing her forehead, handing her his slice of cake even though she’d just had one. “you didn’t see that.” he spoke up when he noticed someone watching him, trying not to laugh as his daughter took a huge bite.

“they called.” he smiled, moving to rest on his knees so he could lean closer, hands resting on yubin’s knees. his smile was just as wide, and looking at yubin was everything he needed to know this was the right choice. “i told you i’d do it.” he chuckled. “i hope you still want to, because it’s a little late to cancel this order.”

zander didn’t like that he’d happen to answer a very important call away from yubin, but he did like that it gave him the exciting role of breaking the news. he took a few seconds to get over his own initial shock, simply not expecting it today. still smiling, he made his way into the room yubin was in, clearing his throat to get his attention. “like i was saying, after tour,” he paused as he crouched in front of him, lowering his voice when their daughter was playing in the room, not sure if she should hear anything yet. “want to raise another baby with me? and you better say yes, because we’ve got one on the way.”
