Honestly, Shay hadnât really wanted to come out of her apartment and join the real world. Things hadnât really gone the way sheâd hoped they would and Alex was still missing. She was getting ready to start looking for him, though after the protest, maybe that wasnât such a good idea. If he was in trouble and trying to hide, heâd definitely go further into hiding now.
âHey.â Shay gave a small nod and plopped herself down on the couch with an annoyed exhalation. âHow are we going to fix this shitstorm now? Do you have any alcohol? is anyone else here or is it just us?â Shay knew she was asking a lot of questions, but oh well, Kat was either going to answer them or tell her to stop worrying.
âThereâs people in the building, but not here. And of fucking course thereâs alcohol.â Kat said, feigning insult at the mere suggestion that she may not. Pushing herself off the couch, she slid over to an end table that had a compartment in it. Two or three at a time, Kat pulled out clear and brown liquor of various sorts.
Kat picked up her bottle of brandy, and gestured at the floor. âWhatâs the poison? And Iâve got mixers in the kitchen.â Honestly, Kat couldnât think of a way to fix the current system as it was. Especially with all the people now demanding genocide of Evos.
âAs for the fixing. We really should have tied down Rene for the protest.â They couldnât have known Dubs was going to pull that kind of stunt, but if it werenât him, it probably would have been someone else. At least Dubs had the good sense to feel a little guilt about the whole thing.
