Iβm going to turn this submission into a script for the next Conjuring movie.

I am the Collections Manager at a history museum. Β And Iβm sure all of the CMs and Registrars out there at all museums have walked into βpresentsβ at their desks first thing on a Monday morning β oh, those weekend drop-offs!Β
This morning, I innocently walked in and started talking to co-workers, apparently passing by yet another present. I was made aware of it when another co-worker walked in and asked βDo you want to move the haunted chair, or just leave it in the Atrium?β After saying in a rather confused way βI have no idea what youβre talking aboutβ¦β He said, βOh, someone dropped a haunted chair off over the weekend with a rather long note. You have to some see thisβ¦β
Sure enough, there is a small childβs chair (not in Β great condition) sitting in our entranceway with a handwritten, scrawled note on both sides of half of a green file folder. Β The note proceeds to explain how the person was at a local flea market, and a volunteer there suggested that she drop this off with us. Β The next line says βI am not a professional Psychic but do strongly believe in para-normal phenomena.β Β Β
It goes on:Β
I was immediately attracted to this chair from across the yard. I had strong feelings of the child it was made for, and possibly some negative feelings β the child had a very hard life.Β I do not think it should be discarded but would be afraid to take it home.Β If I hold the chair, I do now get some impressions of love β love for a dolls(s), Β pets put in the chair, ie, a dog the chair was I believe, later used for play maybe there was βrough housing.β Β If you donβt want to, or cannot use it, please give the chair away and do not trash it. Cleaned up, it will be a work of art.**Β The original child seems to have been a girl, I sense homespun, plain dresses. Life was hard with tragedy. I donβt want to get too involved with these paranormal feelings & again, I think the chair is a treasure but would be afraid to Β take it home. Β Thank you .Β
** Nope. Nope it wonβt.Β
The last line scrawled along the edge in parentheses as a kind of post-script really brought things home:Β
(Could the chair be βspirit attachedβ and now trying to fool me with a rush of βpositiveβ impressions, so I will take it home β canβt be sure, but donβt need any more βdramaβ, any more than I already have)
Translation: βI now think it really is evil, so evil that it is trying to trick me into taking it home. Β You people have all sorts of old stuff, so Iβm sure you figure out how to deal with this evil haunted chair. Hopefully before it kills you all. I donβt need more drama, but you guysβll be fine Iβm sure.β
Anyway, this is my museum now, I guess.Β
