I wrote this tiny, silly joko fanfic based on a thing that just happened to me lol, but it's so short I don't feel like putting it on ao3, so here you go:
It was the first day of the month. The first first day of the month since the love of Johnās lives had moved in with him.Ā
Excitedly, he waited to see Yoko stir so he could attack her into full awakeness.
Yoko blinked open her eyes, looking pleasantly at John. Not for long.
John dove in to give her a light pinch and a punch on the arm.
āPinch and a punch for the first day of the month,ā he chanted, āwhite rabbits, white rabbits, you canāt get me back.ā
Yoko disappointingly did not look disappointed.
āI already got you,ā she said.
āWhat? No you didnāt! I think Iād have noticed if you did.ā
āThen your mind isnāt as open as I thought it was.ā
John looked at her curiously. āDid you do it in me sleep?ā
Theoretically, it could have occurred, seeing as it was almost the afternoon and John had only just woken up; there were several hours in which Yoko could have woken up first.
John squinted at her - it was needed to see the full features of her face because, even though he was lying beside her, he was that short-sighted - and looked past her eyes into her mind. Ah.
āYou did it in your mind,ā John said.
āI did,ā Yoko confirmed. āJust before you knew I was awake.ā
āBut that doesnāt count!ā John complained.
āHow am I supposed to know if you actually did it in your mind before me?ā
āYou donāt trust me?ā
John realised the hole he had dug for himself.
āI just mean⦠the whole point is that you have to do the physical actions and say the words for it to mean anything. You canāt do that with your mind.ā
āYou can do anything with your mind. Reality is what you imagine it to be.ā
John was so head over heels for this woman that he was realising he might have to pack up his pride for once. Because she was right. She was always right. You could do anything with your mind.
John snuggled closer to his girlfriend. āI guess youāre rightā¦ā
Yoko gave him a kiss on the head, feeling very smug that she had won.
