An excerpt of a marching percussion show I was a part of my senior year of High School for performing arts.

This art was inspired by the blossoming beauty of the naked feminine body.

I am submitting my short film titled, “Muñeca”. This film is about a young three year old girl who something out about her favorite doll, ten years later. I wanted to tell this story image through color and sound. I feel that fifty percent of what you see is what you hear and I really engraved that thought going into this film, I wanted the audio to move with the film. I wanted the movements of the camera to emit a certain emotion as well as the lighting in these scenes. All in all, I learned a lot in the making of this film and I cannot wait to apply that knowledge into future films.

This is a branding project I had to create for my Graphic Design II class. I decided to put my own spin on the world renowned MoMA (Museum of Modern Art) in New York and use the acronym for a Mexican/Latinx art museum. I wanted this to have a quintessential Latinx aesthetic so I made sure to include some hand-drawn symbols along with some vibrant colors.

In mainstream media, Salvadoran culture is represented by gang violence and poverty. I want to change the narrative and shift focus to the parts of Salvadoran culture that I embrace. I also wanted to merge the popularity and familiarity of the Mexican Loterìa game with popular elements of Salvadoran culture to normalize seeing them in the media. My hope is that Salvadoran culture can be celebrated and recognized starting with art that highlights its most vibrant qualities.
