At this point, all I want to see is when the body switch was made, but I have this doubt they’ll ever show it.
Yeah, going through the Magi tag I noticed that there's more people displeased by alimor (supposedly) happening than those actually celebrating it. I always thought that alimor was extremely well-liked, so I'm surprised to see how many people prefer alikou/hakumor over it. Personally speaking, alimor has never been appealing to me, even before Kougyoku and Hakuryuu appeared, but chapters 203 & 204 literally killed any positive feelings I might've had towards it. Now it's just a big fat NO to me.
It’s definitely one of the most popular het ships in Magi, but you’re right, I do think it used to be a lot more popular than it is now. I know a lot of people who used to like it before 203+204 (and/or the “Alimor fans sending death threats to Ohtaka over 199+200″ incident), and most of the current shippers I know personally are more casual readers of the series who binge it once or twice a year. If I had to guess, I’d say a big reason for its decline in popularity was the anime having ended; the fandom is smaller in general, and the people who stuck around until now have had the time to latch onto other ships that might not have seemed as obvious or appealing the first time around. That’s not to say there aren’t still plenty of fans, I just wouldn’t call them the majority.
Tbh I never saw the appeal in it either, and for quite a while I thought the audience was supposed to be rooting for Morgiana and Aladdin to get together, hahaha. .. . Anyway, yeah, it’s very NO for me too, and I’m gonna go right back to ignoring it as hard as possible once everything blows over and I stop getting asks about it. _(:’3_

*After reading unconfirmed spoilers*
If this is true and Hakuei really did go to Sinbad, then what we have here is Hakuei acknowledging that Sinbad has more power/influence than Kouen to resolve the situation.
I give her points for seeing that.
Using CAUSE and EFFECT terms loosely, The Kou-siblings are swept up in the EFFECT area of the storyline; Hakuryuu is attacking so we better attack back.
Where as Hakuei went straight for the CAUSE area; Sinbad has the most influence on Hakuryuu right now and has the best chance of swaying him (at least, a hell of a lot better than his own family).
Sinbad may have had his shady moments, but he’s still a decent guy; even the heartless Judal laughed at his natural ability to sympathize like a human being. Now that Hakuei’s discussed the situation from her POV to Sinbad, I’m interested in knowing what Sinbad means when he says to her “Please leave the matter of your little brother to me. ”
Good point, that means that whatever Sinbad himself does in the next chapters could very well be in response to Hakuei’s plea (or at least laced with response). All people see is that she’s protecting her brother, but they are not considering that she might also be protecting her cousins as well, by negotiating with Sinbad.
I’m not gunna lie, I want to know, now that Sinbad is involved, how is Kougyouku going to respond to him? I think, giving how both Hakuei and Kougyouku had such different reactions to first meeting Sinbad, that possibly they might flip-flop their opinions of him.
^ What I love about this is (and this is probably just the SinEi side of me talking) Sinbad just formed an alliance with Hakuei when she came to him with this need and if her alliance means something to him, he's either gunna go out of his way to satisfy that need or make her think that need is being satisfied...
Either way, I'm happy.
Not too sure about Kougyouku though. I would also like to see her emotional break away from Sinbad, but lately I’ve been learning that the Japanese fans think badly of girls who change their feelings about boys(?) so I can see if she remains emotionally stuck on him for the rest of the series, because they’d like it better for her feelings to remain true.

The SinEi fanbase is just waiting for confirmation to bust out the booze.
So it's been a long while since that extra came out where Sinbad and Hakuei shared their first impression of each other, but even still today my friends and I have been debating why it was even addressed.
My best friend (who is a EnEi fan) believes that Ohtaka, on an EnEi campaign, was just trying to crush the hopes and dreams of any potential SinEi fans. I don't believe this, because we Sinei-fans don't have a very strong presence in the Magi fandom, especially on the Japanese side (I mean, our strongest competitor only contributes to the English-speaking fandom once in a blue moon) and to do so for that purpose only feels like a petty venture. Secondly, if the goal of crushing SinEi was to promote EnEi then why didn’t Kouen get a first impression of Hakuei on that sheet? (all he got was Kouha, Hakuryuu, and Alibaba). Lastly, other characters on the chart also started out with bad impressions of each other, but their relationships have moved forward from that...
My other friend (who is/was a ShunEi fan) thinks Ohtaka was just trying to show a distinct difference between Hakuei and Kougyouku’s impressions of him (they are literally the only two characters on the sheet that list him). Secondly, She also feels that Ohtaka's gone through a great effort in previous extras to emphasize what shallow judgment Sinbad has towards women (my friend is generally very critical of Sinbad so I’m not surprised). Lastly, there are a handful of irrelevant first impressions on the sheet, probably meant for the sake of humor or to take up space, so the chances that Sinbad and Hakuei’s impressions were meant for irrelevant humor is very likely.
Personally, I feel like Ohtaka was trying to cover an exposed corner, seeing that Hakuei remains to be one of the few female characters Sinbad's never had an opportunity to talk to. Ohtaka has a tenancy to throw in extra details of trivia in her media, some of which we assume she was never able to insert into the storyline and others we assume she made up off the top of her head. My theory is, because she never intends on creating an opportunity to have Sinbad and Hakuei interact, she accomplished an interaction between them here in the extras.... I hate this theory because it leaves so much to be desired.
