14.5.17 // Just a lil post to let you guys know I’m not dead - I’ve just been a busy little lady in my study cave. I had two major assignments due last week but was also dealing with some chronic pain - which was absolute hell for me physically and emotionally, but my head is a little clearer now, and my desk is A LOT cleaner now.
4 days til my exam and after that I’ll be done with this semester and my first year of uni!! I can’t wait until break so I can read ALL THE BOOKS, and hopefully get around to filming those videos you guys have been asking for. 💗
P.s. I’m still on hiatus atm, and haven’t had a chance to reply to all my messages but they’re piling up so please bear with me! I’m still active on instagram though.
9-04-2016 // 2:26pm Sorry for my lack of updates, I’ve been recovering from a terrible cold. Have a picture of my Management notes on corporate culture & a cute little watercolour picture I painted as compensation ~ I received a lot of positive feedback with my previous case of colour coordinating, so I chose to do it again but with a violet colour scheme today because it (apparently) uplifts, calms the mind & nerves as well as encourages creativity. :^)
22/03: My exams are coming up, time to study hard. First one is next week Wednesday, so got plenty of time ✌🏻️.

[6/10/16] some revision notes for world history :) instagram: @cmstudy
For anyone in the united states it is summer time. And all I can say about this is thank god. i know that being apart of the studyblr community stereotypes me as wanting school and wanting to have something to study, but I and most sane humans need a break. So while most of us are using our summer to learn a language, cure cancer, etc. remember to give time to yourself. This 2-3 month period does have at least 24 hours to spare for yourself.
Thank you @studypetals for this splendid post on banners and fonts!
It’s essay writing season for tons of students!
After being a college writing tutor for over a year, I thought I would share my advice with all you awesome people on tumblr. This is how I write essays, but if you’ve got more tips, feel free to add them below.
Happy writing. You can do it!
Wednesday night means cannolis (one for my mom, one for me) and quizlet

Lunch today was a treat, some Ritz crackers with cheese (pepper jack and laughing cow) , mandarin oranges , sugar snap peas, some skinny pop, andddd pineapple chips . Not super "well balanced" but let me tell you it's pretty delicious.
Ready to knockout some physics webassign with my trusty sidekicks of a pomegranate smoothie and Thai chicken wrap
Snap of the desk.
Studying tips
Studying can be hard and I personally have tried lots of methods, some worked, some failed miserably. So today I’m here to share with you the successful ones, and I hope I’ll be able to help you out.
1. This is basic, but essential: always REPEAT what yo are studying OUT LOUD. It is extremely important to hear and listen to yourself. When you repeat the text only in your head it might initially seem that you know it but later on you will realise that you don’t remember a thing, you’ll start panicking and we all know what happens after that. 2. Color coding. It consists in assigning a colour to definitions, keywords, dates, names ecc. This is excellent if you are a visual learner and can be incredibly effective if you do it the right way. Of course color coding can mean many different things. -Highlighting. Don’t highlight everything (it’s the equivalent of highlighting nothing) just the main topics, that way when you look at the page the keywords and definitions will pop and your brain will remember it that way. If you need to remember longer concepts try underlining with a pen (even colourful). -Notes. If the textbook is yours write notes next to your text with colourful pens (following the colour code you established) 3. Flashcards. For this you can use index cards or just cut out small rectangles of sturdy paper. On one side write the word or date you need to learn and on the other side the definition or description. It’s also a great way of having someone test you even if they don’t know the subject or the topic. (also works well with colour coding) 4. Recording. Record yourself reading your text, your notes or just repeating and then listen to yourself as many times as you need, that way it will be like having someone to explain the lesson over and over again. 5. Teach. Grab someone who doesn’t know the topic and repeat it to them (even a stuffed animal will do). If they understand it means that you know the lesson well, if they don’t…keep trying! 6. Write things down. I cannot stress how much it helps to write what you need to learn down. Doing this you set what you need to know in stone. Every time I have a test or an exam I write what I need to know, wether I’m rewriting my notes, summarising what’s in my textbook or writing what I remember it always helps me out so much (and of course you can use color coding).
Now good luck and “happy” studying!
Oh and wait for pictures of my highlighting method coming soon (as soon as school starts for me…so probably third week of september)
The Curve of Forgetting (originally called The Ebbinghuas Curve after the German philosopher Hermann Ebbinghaus who developed it in 1885) demonstrates how quickly we forget new information we don’t work with repeatedly. It shows just how important it is to revise everyday - even for a few minutes!
