#smth art #traditional drawing #junk journal #this is my sketchbook actually im just putting a bunch of shit in it #im trying to do more traditional art lately. its more Tactile #also i keep seeing sketchbook inspo on pinterest. tons of 'how i made my sketchbook thicc and creamy'#and its tons of beautiful sketchbooks full of busy pages of just. so much junk #and interactible stuff and stickers and stuff glued in #and im like Damn. Why Am I Not Doing That Right Now. Why Does That Seem So Hard When I Know I Can Do That #the answer is these sketchbook belong to like. high schoolers. who are drawing in them all day in school and shit.#instead of working a full time job and then coming home exhausted #if i was still a teenager i could put out that volume and level of art #and i did! but my issue is i did it on loose copy paper that i would then tape up on my walls.#so i dont have a sick ass full sketchbook like that. and i also wasnt sticking everything ever into it to make it look crazy cool #cuz that wasnt really the Thing back then afaik #as an adult i have many partially filled sketchbooks. its embarrassing.#but whatever we go on! and im trying not to be too precious with this one #maybe in a few years itll be like those fun thicc sketchbook tiktoks or whatever. for now im just getting silly with it #this page was actually full of like practice scribbles for something else before. then i put a bunch of postits and blank labels over it #and then drew over those in acrylic paint markers and micron pens #and then packing tape over all that to keep the postits in place. and a few stickers for funsies #im happy with how it turned out actually :)

#smth art #halftone #furry #queer artist #i made this for a Spotify playlist. very proud of how it turned out #long story short i developed a crush on a coworker very shortly after meeting him bc hes very cool and funny and cute #and we got along very well instantly. however nothing ever came of it bc hes the most emotionally unavailable person ive met in my life #so i just kinda Suffered™ for like 2½ years cycling through the stages of grief until acceptance finally stuck #now we're just chill. but i Did make a carefully curated playlist about it all and regardless of current feelings im very proud of it #its super specific and personal but also relatable and has a story arc to it (meeting->falling->pining->resentment->depression->acceptance)#anyway. i was thinking like hmmm i havent been doing digital art in a while and need to get back to that. whats a good lil warmup #to get me back in the vibe of it? and the idea popped into my head to do a cover for the gay and stupid playlist.#maybe ill link the playlist later! who knows! its very good after all #though theres a few specific songs on there that are Personal to the guy i made it about #like i dont think 'shelter' by porter robinson is especially relevant to an unrequited love playlist but. its there for My reasons.#theres also a nice flat no halftone or grunge texture version of this that ill throw in if i link the playlist later cuz why not #but im very happy with how this version turned out!!!#i did less layers this time and it was way easier #usually when i do like. a bunch of ink colors layered. i do 1 color per layer #but if im using more than 4 or 5 colors that gets SO unwieldy and annoying #this time i used 2-3 colors per layer and just made sure they wouldnt need to stack #it worked out rly well i think! and was WAY easier to work with after the colors were down

#smth art #hello. sorry again for the long absences. havent been doing much digital art lately!#we'll see about getting back to.it in the new year #in the meantime. have some very tired eli and june #new year is also our irl anniversary (weve been together 7 years) and we spent it completely hedonistically #had a delicious brunch with mimosas. got high af. sat around watching tv. made a fancy charcuterie. ate cocktail shrimp and macarons #it was a good day. but then we did stay up till midnight (unusual for us. we're in bed if not fully asleep by 10pm most nights)#so im tired. and we have many things to do #got a guy coming to spray pesticides in our apartment this weekend and we gots to clean up some before he arrives!
