okay i’m sending this on anon so i don’t get FLAMED. but. i saw your post talking about how jreg fell off—i completely agree. to further your point, i don’t think jreg (nor any content creator) owes his audience anything, but i think that it’d be amiss to not criticize some of the things he does. maybe i’m THE woker and that’s fine, but there are certain jokes that he’s made that have had me sit back and go.. oh wow! okay! and i get it, a big part of his content is edgy dark humor. so at the end of the day, it’s kind of hard to take blows at what he’s literally built his brand on. but, i don’t know, sometimes the satire plays a bit too much into real life issues and can start to feel distasteful.
i’m going to sound like the most sensitive motherfucker ever when i say this, but i think something that irked me a lot whenever i saw it happening was the whole anti-robot movement he had going on? where he was being ‘racist to robots,’ or whatever? and yeah, it’s a joke, sure. it is funny, to an extent. but i feel like he might be among the content creators who just went too far with it?
ai is bad, obviously. but i have seen a lot of black people express their discomfort with the robot racism trend, especially with the use of fake slurs that mimic real racial slurs. it feels like there’s a line between it being funny and it seeming like you’re just poking fun at real life racism under the veil of a different species. and yeah i get it, jreg fundamentally does cross the line when it comes to what’s acceptable to joke about all the time. i just think that not everything he does is funny. i could be far too sensitive, perhaps it’s on me. but i think jreg is a bit of a loser. and i mean that only half as a joke. 😭
“anon this guy makes nazi jokes, what do you expect” nothing. i am kind of stating the obvious, i just feel like some people try to ignore that his comedy loses the face of comedy and just feels shitty sometimes. 💀
