Joanna was never one to shy away from life at Costello. She knew the rougher areas of town, knew that sometimes it wasn’t the safest place to life. But it was where she had grown up, where she’d raised Jack and Farren and where she was determined to stick around and raise Hope. That being said she’d taken one of her first solo walks to one of the safer public parks and sat on the bench gently rocking the baby in the pram. She gave a small smile as she looked up, hearing footsteps come towards her.

“Hello, nice weather we’re having for November isn’t it?”

joanna…she’d seen pictures of her and there she was right in front of her. she hadn’t expected to meet her like this but this was clearly how it was going to go. she held aria in her sling a little closer as she approached her. ‘yeah it’s not so bad.’ she mumbled. ‘sorry, you don’t know me but i just saw you sitting here and recognised you immediately but i don’t really think it’s the right time i could come and see you another time.’

meena was ready for the weekend, as she stepped foot inside the bar she immediately regretted her decision, the stench of stale alcohol and cigarettes hit her like a ton of bricks. she slowly edged her way to the bar with a look of disgust on her face. ‘vodka on the rocks please.’ she mumbled. she’d need that. she looked beside her and sighed. ‘is it always like…this in here?’

meena had arranged and then rearranged her classroom what felt like a hundred times but in reality it was probably around four. she decided to leave it as it was and head out for the day, she didn’t feel like going home yet so she decided to go for a walk around the park. she was walking at a relatively slow pace when she watched something fall from the pocket of the person in front of her. ‘hey, hey,’ she jogged slightly to keep up. ‘you dropped this back there.’

sophie had just received a letter to say that her divorce was now completely finalised and she was free. she needed to get groceries anyway so decided to get a bottle of wine to celebrate her new found single freedom. she got aria situated in her sling as they walked around the supermarket, it was strange getting used to a new place again. aria became restless around halfway round the store and the panic in sophie rose. ‘hey bubs, it’s okay, come on…just a few more things and we’ll go home.’ talking to such a small baby obviously did nothing so sophie stopped where she was and bounced the little one for a moment. ‘come on darling, it’s okay. momma’s got you.’ she feared that she’d have to abandon her groceries if she pushed it any further so she headed for the checkouts. she waited in line, embarrassed to say the least as aria continued to wail. ‘sorry.’ she mumbled to the person in front of her. ‘she’s usually not this loud.’
