Our bodies intertwined as we danced to the music. 

A room full of people. 

Yet they all seemed to vanish as I looked at him. 

His hand reaching the small of my back as he led me through the dance. 

My dress swishing at my feet as he twirled me around. 

Did he know that I was so in love with him to the point that it hurts? I know deep in my heart that this man will never love me. 

Please, just let me hold onto this moment for a little longer. 

His eyes look beyond me. 

They always look next to me, above me or over me. 

Just never at me.

He nudges my shoulder, pushing though the crowd

Eager to hold her in his arms. 

My eyes well with tears as the dance came to an end.

Always the one in love 

Never loved.

Honestly fuck it all. 

I wiped a hand across my face .

Smearing the makeup I spent an excruciatingly long time on for him. 

My pain, an amusement for my dearest family. 

Their eyes overflowing with satisfaction. 

I have been underestimated my entire life. Thats a good thing. 

Nobody would suspect me.
