Itâs incredibly important to me that the anime decided to include this scene that wasnât in the manga. In the manga, Maomao does pass out in Jinshiâs lap after saving him from what was obviously an assassination attempt.
HOWEVER, the manga cuts off at this point, keeping strictly in Maomaoâs perspective, and cuts straight to when she regains consciousness in bed after being treated for her injuries. The manga doesnât show how she got back. They SAY how, and she briefly mentions, âwow that must have been embarrassing; he carried me back,â but we donât SEE it. We donât get to feel the true impact of what that means. But the anime DID show us, and holy shit.
They SHOW us how taboo this is. They show Jinshi carrying her out of the temple, after a public attempt on his life.
They show us the shock and horror on Lakanâs face as Jinshi silently walks past him. Horror at the state his daughter is in, horror at another manâa man with a status he could never dare to questionâstaking such a public claim over his child, horror at the fact that he could never have this level of closeness with her (as Maomao would never allow it).
Everyone hides their gazes, as is their custom when someone of his rank passes by, but the air is different this time. Jinshi is furious, heâs terrified, and he could not give a single shit about how inappropriate it looks to these palace officials.
The shot that slowly follows her trail of bloodâeven though itâs a small detailâthat in particular leaves such a intense impression of how poignant this is for him.
Maomao talked about this scene in the manga like it was nothing to her. She did what she set out to do: she saved the person who was targeted by the attack. She didnât even know the target would be someone she knew. But she has no idea that this happened afterwards as a result of her bravery. To her, it likely wasnât even an act of bravery at all. She acted on impulse; she did what she knew was the right thing to do.
The anime didnât need to include this, because the manga didnât show it. But damn, Iâm so glad they did.

It's been a while since I've written on here, but I've been working on a new fic for quite some time now and I've been so excited to share the first previews of it with you! I plan to post here and on my A03, which I will link when the story is out.
As always, thank you for reading. đ - sarah
On the night of October 31st, 1981, Lord Voldemort met his untimely demise. The Wizarding World had celebrated for weeks, though for the Nott family, there was a different cause for celebration. For on November 12th, 1981, their twins, Theodore and Talli Nott turned a year old.
Tiberius and Christina Nott were of the pure-blood status, a trait they often flaunted around their friends and social circles. Their eldest son, Alexander Nott, was to follow in Tiberiusâ footsteps and study the Dark Arts to aid in the fight of eradicating muggles and those alike. Despite Voldemortâs orders, the Nott family bowed out from their duties of finding his soul, of patching him back together. It felt like an impossible task for the family, and they could not follow him further.
Tonight though, on the celebration of their twinsâ birthdays, thereâs a rap on the door that has Christinaâs skin crawling. There was nothing that could truly create fear in the woman, perhaps Bellatrix Lestrange or the Dark Lord himself, but no one could have predicted the man on the other side of the wood.
Lucius Malfoy stands proudly, his chin high in the air, though thereâs a distinct fear in his eyes that Tiberius understands, especially as a father.
âIâve come to strike a bargain,â he says, his voice cold and even as it had been for the decades the men knew each other. Lucius and Tiberius had attended Hogwarts together, both serving in the Slytherin house and competing for greatness. Something about Lucius always won out, besting Tiberius for Head Boy and Prefect in their schooling days. âThe Dark Lord has fallen but he is not gone. Heâs assigning tasks.â
âLucius,â Tiberius says, stepping out of the door. He closes it behind him, not wanting his wife or Alexander to hear, to understand. âPerhaps we could hold this conversation in a more intimate setting, yes?â
âIâm afraid not,â Lucius says, his jaw twitching. âTwin blood is stronger than any single personâs. The Dark Lord has instructed your children into the cauldron to create a new body for himself.â
âSurely not,â Tiberius breathes, the air ripping from his lungs in an instant. âWhat is your bargain?â
âGive us the twins,â Lucius says, his voice dropping to a dangerous octave. âWeâll spare the eldest boy. In return, I will see to it that no more of your family comes to any harm.â
âWhat sway do you have?â Tiberius demands, not believing his own ears. His family was no more important than the Malfoys to the Dark Lord, and there was nothing that would change his mind when it was made up.
âI have certain information he desires,â Lucius says. âThe choice is yours.â
Summary: The Malfoys find a suitable wife for their son, Draco, and they experience Hogwarts together.
Words: 10.5K
Pairing: Draco x Reader
Requested: LOL I donât get requests
Warnings: None
From the day you were born, your fate was decided. You, a Nott, were to be married to another Pureblood. You were to follow in your parentsâ footsteps, study their sacrifices to the Dark Lord and learn from them. From the very day you were born, your life was planned for you, and there was nothing you could do about it.
A mere six weeks before your grand arrival, the Malfoy family was blessed with their own miracle. A boy, Draco Malfoy, who only weighed a whopping 7lbs and 7oz. He arrived with a thin layer of white-blond hair and the greyest eyes that his mother, Narcissa Malfoy, had ever laid her own brown eyes on.
At the announcement of your arrival, Lucius Malfoy had appeared at your fatherâs doorstep and the deal was done. You, only two hours old, were to marry the six-week-old Draco Malfoy when you were both of age.
I wrote a Draco fic. Like a full fic. And Iâve been working on it for actual years, writing and rewriting and changing the ideas. Trying to decide if I wanna post it part by part here, or A03, or Quotev, or both.... decisions, decisions.
Hi life update I stopped writing because I started working on Dynasty (yes the tv show) and itâs really amazing and time consuming but I hope to write again soon â¤ď¸

can you please make a draco x reader imagine where so many wizards have been obliviated to be kept safe. the reader is one of them. in this imagine, the harry potter series exists and sheâs such a big fan, only to see somebody that looks exactly like draco which she mistakes that itâs tom felton, but itâs DRACO?! this idea came to me but iâm such a bad writer and wouldnât be able to execute it and i love your stories so much
I think this is actually already a fic, but I can try!! I remember reading one where sheâd been obliviated to protect her but she found the Harry Potter series and read it and then Draco and Hermione posed as her best friends until they thought she was ready to know the truth about herself.
Has anyone read this or did I dream this up? đđ

AN: Sorry this took so long to get finished! Been working- BUT! Thereâs a part 3 coming your way sooner than this took, I pinky swear!
Dear Draco,
Iâm so sorry to hear about your wife, mate. Must be a lot of pressure. Is Scorpius okay? Iâll have mum call and check in with Astoria. Iâm sure everything will be alright.
Well wishes,
Blaise Zambini
Draco folds the letter in half and tosses it on the table in front of him. Heâs a mess. The table top is covered completely in glasses of firewhiskey and takeout. He hasnât showered in what feels like years, but in actuality, itâs only been roughly three days. Three long, dark days. His mind titters between you and Scorpius. Mostly Scorpius. Another sip of firewhiskey. His head buzzes, his chest glowing from the inside as the whiskey warms him.
He stands, not being able to take it any longer. He grabs his coat, his resolve set as he stumbles out the front door, not even bothering to lock it. What was the point? Thereâs nothing to steal. Everything he loves is gone, cruelly ripped away from him over something he really has no control over. Well⌠almost everything.
Despite the summer not fully ending, the air holds a certain chill that rocks Draco to his core. The firewhiskey on his breath mingles with the cool night air, and he works hard to walk in a straight line. He stumbles over the rubble, cursing to himself.
Finally, after knocking into people for miles, keeping his head low, and stumbling around for what felt like hours, he reaches his destination. Only you would have a purple front door. He chuckles to himself, shaking his head. Oh, you. You⌠You. Your fault.
His anger is back before he knows it and heâs suddenly banging on your door.
âY/N!â He slurs, dragging your name out as his mind moves slower than his mouth.
The door opens after a moment, and it was obvious he was disturbing you. Hair in a bun, pajamas on, swaddled in a blanket.
âDraco?â You ask, opening the door wider. âAre you- youâre drunk?â
âYes,â he slurs, his chuckles turning menacing. âYes, I am drunk, thank you for finally noticing me.â
You sigh, wrapping your arms tighter around your body.
âCome inside,â you offer, widening the door.
Draco looks at you, his face filled with disgust but his eyes holding so much love and adoration. He scoffs past you, pushing his way into your little home.
âThis is all your fault,â he slurs again. âYour fault. Gone. Nothing! Just gone. Scorpius.â
âDraco,â you push. âSlow down. What happened to Scorpius?â
âGone!â Draco shouts, beginning that world famous pace now. âTook him! Gone! You!â
You sigh and lean against the wall, knowing now isnât the time for reasoning- not when heâs like this. You pinch the bridge of your nose, listening to his âtook him, gone, youâ mantra over and over again, waiting him out.
âDarling, everything will be oka-â
âOh, fuck you!â he shouts, finally breaking. He slides down the countertop, dragging his legs against his chest, his heart shattering at the look on your face. He can remember feeling like this one other time in his life- the night he learned he was to kill Dumbledore. And you looked at him that night just as you were looking at him now.
You move towards him slowly, sinking down to sit next to him as his shoulders start to shake. The tears that pour down his face are large and unwavering as he finally just lets go and cries. He rests his forehead on his knees as everything pours into him. Youâre alive. His wife has left him. He doesnât know where his son is. Why didnât he just wait.
Draco lifts his head for a moment, his own breath caught in his throat as he leans back against the countertop. The cry of anguish that escapes his throat brings tears to your own eyes and you cannot take it anymore. The tears spill over as you grab his face in your hands and kiss him hard. You pour everything into your kiss- the years spent missing him, the tears cried thinking of him, how he mustâve felt, knowing in your heart heâd moved on. The love of your life sitting right in front of you, you canât let him get away again.
But he pushes you away. Hard.
âHow could you?â He demands through his tears. Suddenly on his feet, his teeth grit and though you know heâs on his way to sobering up, thereâs still that distinctive slur to his words and the vastness of his pupils. âHow fucking dare you! You made me believe you were gone. You made me believe it and then you just show up from the afterlife, ready to start over with me? How selfish are you? How could you do this to me? To us? I love you more than anything else in this world and right now I canât even spare a glance for you. You ripped my family apart. I blame you! You took him away from me. Youâre the reason sheâs gone with Scorpius, youâre the reason I donât have my boy!â
Youâre on your feet now, right in his face as you take his words as a slap in the face. How dare he.
âI did everything I could to protect you!â you shout, your own volume matching his.
âI didnât ask for your protection,â he snarls. âIn fact, I didnât ask for any of this!â
âNo, you didnât,â you shout back. âWould you rather have sat around and waited and worried if I were alive or not for 6 years?â
âYes!â He erupts. âYes, I would have! At least I wouldâve known you were alive!â
âYou donât know how many times I almost wasnât,â you admit, your words stringing together faster than you wouldâve liked. Your breathing is heavy, matching his as your shouting match continues. âYou donât know how many times I almost made sure I wasnât! Youâre an arse, Draco Malfoy, to blame me for your problems!â
âYou are my problem!â He shouts, his face inches from yours. âYou and all of my fucking love for you!â
âYeah, well,â you shout, finally stumbling. He will not win this argument. âWell⌠Maybe I love you, too!â
âYeah?â He shouts, nodding his head.
âYeah,â you say, your resolve settling in. âYou think I came back to teach at Hogwarts? If you really think that then youâre a right foul git, just as everyone says! And furthermore, I-â
And suddenly, his lips are shutting you up in full force against yours. You wrap your arms around his neck, allowing him to take full control of the kiss. Your mouth opens, inviting his tongue in as he pushes you against the counter. Dracoâs fingers tug at your hair and you groan against his lips. His hands trail down your waist, grabbing your hips and lifting you onto the countertop.
âYou drive me mad,â he growls against your lips, his hands tugging at your hair once again. âAbsolutely fucking mad.â
âDraco,â you groan. Your head falls back as his lips nip at your neck, sucking softly. âI want you so bad.â
âY/N,â he moans, his hands roaming.
âY/N,â he says, this time more forcefully.
You scrunch your eyebrows, looking down at him from the countertop.
âY/N!â Followed by a banging on your door.
You open your eyes, taking note of your bedroom around you. It was just a dream. A cruel, sick, unusual form of punishment dream. More banging.
âComing,â you groan.
You flip the covers off of you and move through your kitchen and living room, keeping your duvet wrapped tightly around you as you pull the front door open.
âAbout time,â Draco utters, pushing past you and into your home.
âUh, come in,â you say, rubbing your eyes, trying to rub the dream from your mind. âIâll start some tea.â
âI came for a reason,â Draco says, wringing his fingers together. âI needed to talk to somebody.â
âOh,â you nod. âAlright.â
You flit about the kitchen, filling the kettle with water and turning it on to boil, your cheeks redder than necessary.
Draco watches you from across the kitchen, his eyes following you as if youâd disappear again if he didnât. His heart thuds but he plays it cool, crossing his arms over his chest as the silence stretches between you two.
âAstoria left,â he finally says. Your eyes snap to his quickly, and you can see the pain in his eyes.
âShe did?â You ask, watching him.
âYeah,â he nods. âI told her everything. She pushed me to have another baby with her, but I told her I didnât want another one.â
âIâm guessing she didnât take that well?â You ask, your voice lilted.
âNope,â he says, his eyes moving to the floor. âSo she left⌠And she took Scorpius with her.â
âNo,â you gasp. âDo you know where they went?â
âNo,â he says, shaking his head. The kettle whistles and you move quickly, dunking teabags into two mugs and pouring the hot water on top. You gesture to the couch and he sits quickly, almost uncomfortably, as you hand him his tea. âThanks.â
You nod and sit at the opposite end of the couch, tucking your feet under your legs, relishing in the warmth of the mug between your cold fingers.
âShe canât just take him,â you say, your voice coming out more stern than you anticipated. âYouâre his father. This just isnât right, Draco.â
âI know,â he nods, taking a sip of his tea. His face is haunted as he stares absently into his cup, his eyebrows scrunch together. More than anything did you hate seeing him like this. So sad, so lost.
âWell⌠letâs go get him back,â you say, tilting your head.
âHow?â He asks, his shoulders sinking further. âI donât even know where they are.â
âI know some people,â you suggest, shrugging lightly. âI traveled through villages near here and met a lot of really great witches and wizards. Maybe I could call in some favors?â
âItâs alright,â Draco sighs. âAstoriaâs too smart to go somewhere remote. Sheâs close⌠I know she is.â
You scoot towards him and take his mug, placing both on the little coffee table. You grab Dracoâs hands in your own, forcing him to look you in the eye.
âSheâll come back,â you say, sounding more confident about it than you actually felt. âScorpius is safe. Thatâs whatâs important. Weâll find them, I promise.â
âYouâll help me?â He asks, and his voice reminds you of the broken boy from sixth year. âReally?â
âOf course I will, Dray,â you sigh.
 âWhy would you do that?â
You sigh again, leaning back against the plush cushions as you wrap your blanket tighter around you.
âBecause I love you, Draco,â you admit, not meeting his gaze. âI always will.â
Dracoâs eyes water, but he blinks his tears away the way he always does. He nods once, swallowing hard as he finally looks at you.
âI thought Iâd never hear you say that again.â
âI didnât intend to say it again,â you say quietly.
Draco scoots even closer to you and grabs your hands again. Heâs gentle as his thumb rubs the back of your hand, moving to rub your palm and up your arms until heâs cradling your face and finally, finally kissing you. His kisses are soft and gentle- not at all as they were in your dream- and you relish in the warmth of his lips.
âWhat do we do?â You ask against his lips, your eyes remaining closed as you savor the moment with him.
Draco pulls away slowly. âI need to get my son back. If that means going with Astoriaâs wishes until I can figure something out, then so be it.â
Your face is cool as he removes his hands and stands, moving towards your front door.
âIâm sorry,â you say, though for what you arenât sure.
âDonât be,â he says. He turns towards you, and the lilt of a smile is etched into his features. âI love you.â
 Astoria,
I might be in the wrong for a lot of things, but Iâve never been wrong about Scorpius. How dare you take him from me. You may think you hold the power, but you donât. Iâll get Scorpius back, donât you worry. Remember- I know too much.
Thank you so much for your kind words!! Itâs going really great and I really enjoy it! I miss being creative and writing so much, so Iâm trying to create time for myself to write. đĽş
