Admittedly, there were a lot of instances when I thoroughly enjoyed reading about or in the perspectives of the side characters more than the mains (lol sorry, Mare, Cal). I feel that the ending was just right, I'm glad with the pace and direction where Mare and Cal's relationship is going - the books did not rush into their individual healing. Evangeline, our sassy iron lady, is finally living without her heart in the shadows (well, hello, Elane) and out for her parents' suffocating grip. Farley, ever strong and determined, proves there is so much more she can achieve, for the cause and for Clara; with the entire Barrow family on her side. Kilorn just makes me proud, he learned and rose to his ranks; tho I honestly wish that his character was painted a little more vividly. However, my eternally biased liking for Maven makes me think that he deserves better ๐คทโโ๏ธ Our beautiful, broken, blue-eyed boy, Maven Calore - the tragic and tormented villain. I was fervently wishing for his character's redemption (and did get some, no matter how short and small in his Broken Throne chapter, Farewell)!! โฃ P.S. The books have really gorgeous covers! Broken Throne is extra nice with all the maps and Julian's notes; and the text in purple ๐คญ๐ https://www.instagram.com/p/CAQfynFAhbB/?igshid=l552wdd4bsqb
