I joined the your boyfriend fandom about 2 months ago and it blew up in popularity, I was very happy at the time to be able to talk to more people.
Then the allegations came out. About melissa aka the fuboo and her husband jake.
Now they have three kids, I would never in a million years want to bring up a topic as serious as this if it meant that a family could be torn apart.
But this is something very serious.
The victim came our saying that they knew fuboo when they were 17, melissa said at the time that they didnt know, but if u look at the time line and the other account melissa did know, yet still sent them content a adult shouldn't send someone under the age if 18.
In the United states where this took place it is illegal to send a minor not safe for work content.
Then, melissa said they didnt knowing there age altho the evidence the victim gave shown she did, yet continued to started a relationship with a freshly turned 18 year old, who was a fan.
This can be called an abuse of power. The relationship main abuse of power would be
1. They were a fan, and that isn't necessarily a bad thing, but a fan usually sees a creator as some sort of figure that they really respect and admire and want to please
2. The victim was only 17 when they started talking to melissa (fuboo), why would someone over 30 still be talking to a 17 year old then later start a relationship
3. The victim stated they went and lived with fuboo, aka fuboo had control over this person housing, that can be called financial abuse, if you dont do what I say or want I will kick you out the of the house
So the relationship from the start was just a big, red flag all and screams power imbalance.
Also if you were an adult which if you are in the fandom and reading this you should be, if your friend online you were talking to and were sending nsfw to each other then later turned out they were lying about there age. Would u
A. Stop talking to them since they breached your trust and could of gotten you in legal trouble and thrown in jail
B. Waited till they turned 18 and start a relationship with them and have them move into your house.
Now what is grooming
Definition: Child grooming is befriending and establishing an emotional connection with a child, and sometimes the family, to lower the child's inhibitions with the objective of sexual abuse
Fuboo did befriend them.
established a motherly like roll to them (people in the fandom do refer to them as mama fuboo)
The victim was already a fan and idolized them, and once the victim moved in with them that's when the sexual abuse from jake, her husband started sexually abusing them once they were legal.
We have a step by step story of child grooming.
Now as for fuboo reponce. There is none really except the fact the story has changed
First it was stated as a rumor, then she changed the story to be yes it was just a crazy ex.
So yes melissa did admit to having a relationship with the victim, and knowing them before they were 18.
Now when the allegations first came out I was a bir skeptical I like to think on things for a while and the final nail in the coffin for me was the third document and seeing fuboo brothers twitter account which fuboo admitted in discord that the twitter account is her brother.
I have not talked to the brother, but from what I have gathered, the brother is trans, as well is the victim and fuboo has repeatedly misgendered them.
Fuboo also referred to the original va actor transphobic comic as a joke and has laughed at other transphobic jokes.
And that is just...disgusting, I don't see how making fun a marginalized group is funny.
The va actor also used the word moron, which is a word that has been used to describe autistic people like myself as incompetent, I'm not here to fight about if it's an okay term or not ,because to me it isn't, and melissa didnr seem to care that he used that word.
And going back to melissa brother, he us dateing someone who is autistic and referred to them as a pet rock.
So that is two time fuboo has been shown to be ableist.
Then there was the time in august around the same time her game got popular that they took a trip to Thailand, there would be no way before hand that they would been able to afford and plan that trip before the game got popular and used patreon money to fund it, all while leaving the 50$ pledged who were suppost To get a commission from her, with nothing.
And the whole vacation thing would be side eye if it wasn't stated earlier by her all patron money would be going towards the game, so more lying.
Then there is blacksheapredgames, the main coder, from my knowledge were the orginal voice actor of YB, and natalie who I believe is dateing him. But after the ableist ans teansphoic comments from the voice actor, he stepped down all roles and natalie was left alone as the main coder, while she works a full time job before this.
Also black sheperd games has there own pateron and has a fraction of what inverted mind Inc has, and I would like to know how much the main coder is getting paid since she is the only one working on the game.
Now for day three. I was there when it came out and it got delayed by like 4 days, I dont blame the delay since it was only one coder at the time and during that time melissa was on vacation funded by pateron money. And the game was so bugged out to the point of it crashing, and to this day October 9th when I am writing this, day three paths aren't complete.
And fuboo refers to this as beta testing instead of saying its just bugged but the other two days came out, fine so.
It's clear she is over working her employee and releasing bugged, crashing games to keep her audience interested since she went from about 3000 patrons to 10,000 in like two weeks.
I have a lot more to say but they are more this is suspicious thoughts and not really factual just me speculating.
As for the fandom, I am just kinda saddened by it, a lot of people are doing mental gymnastics, I was for a bit I'm not going to lie and say I believed the victims right away, no I went against my gut feeling and moral compass so I could have more online friends.
And to the victim of this if you are reading this I am very sorry for not believing you at first, I should of known better and left when your first statement came out, and I hope you get the justice you deserve.
But the more evidence that has come out I can not in my rightful state of mind support melissa who groomed an underage fan for her husband to sexually abuse when they turned 18, when her and her husband were over 30 and have children , the evidence is to strong at this point.
Anyone in the your boyfriend fandom, please just think about the victims story and really think about it, forget about the fun and joy the community brings and think about it.
This isn't a minor that cant play the game and lash out at, like fuboo first said.
This isn't a relationship with a crazy ex, this is the abuse trying to make the victim look crazy.
Read the statement and dont just turn a blind eye to it because you want to enjoy a piece of media.
