To the beautiful little gray kitten with stripes who just led me on a wild goose chase across the backyard at the tail end of a thunderstorm in which I spent several minutes slowly crawling toward him on my hands and knees waving a Costco rotisserie chicken wing at him before he turned and disappeared: PLEASE COME BACK I LOVE YOU……..❤️
We locked eyes at the front door when I went to double check it was locked. I was so shocked because I have dreamed of this moment for so long. He did the thing where he’d run and then I’d follow his big glowing eyes and find him again and he’d sit there and stare at me and as soon as I was within arms reach he’d turn and trot away. This happened 3-4 times so at first I was sort of hoping maybe it was leading me somewhere or wanted me to follow but then he just disappeared :( I left a bowl of fresh water out front but I’m heartbroken. And now it’s 10:30pm I haven’t showered yet and I have to be up for work at 6:45am.

I’m stuck in a reading rut. There are a lot of things I’m interested in reading and then I either never start them or I start them and don’t feel compelled to finish. I’m looking to read something fun glamorous beautiful wild intense romantic borderline swashbuckling. Just something energetic and for lack of a better word kinetic. It can be anything. Preferably published between 1950 and 1999. It doesn’t even need to be like anything I described above. What has everyone been reading lately? Any and all suggestions welcome.
I’ve just been really slacking this year and I’ve read barely anything. For reference, so far I’ve read:
Strip City - Lily Burana (kind of boring)
The Desert Rose - Larry McMurtry (great)
High Fidelity - Nick Hornby (pretty bad)
The Killing of the Unicorn - Peter Bogdanovich (interesting if you care about the people involved but mostly self-serving)
Lives of the Saints - Nancy Lemann (absolutely the best book I’ve read this year)
Sylvia - Michael Leonard (great and cathartic)
A Sport and a Pastime - James Salter (very good)
Once Upon a Time: The Captivating Life of Carolyn Bessette - Elizabeth Beller (so fucking unbelievably boring)
Miracle in the Rain - Ben Hecht (short but cute and the movie was better)

Carrie on the phone
People don’t throw jackets over puddles anymore..
I hate seeing Alan Alda’s grandson in the letterboxd comments of every single one of his movies omg. And each comment is just some variation of “this was my grandpa’s most [insert adjective] movie”. It drives me crazy. And yeah a lot of this is projection because if I was Alan Alda’s grandson I wouldn’t shut the fuck up ever either.
But seriously he needs to stop because the entire first page of reviews for The Four Seasons is just him:
Like I get it I’d be excited if Alan Alda was my grandpa too but damn.

I’ve never seen any of his videos but I’m seriously in love with that reviewbrah guy. I think he lives somewhere in Florida. I could take such good care of him.

For some reason I’ve been collecting fortunes since I was a child. I don’t know why. I think when I was younger I was afraid that if I threw one out it would bring me bad luck. I have no clue what to do with all of them and now I feel like if I were to throw out this many at once it would definitely have a negative effect on my luck.
The job I really want that I interviewed for 3 weeks ago has not gotten back to me
