Welcome back to Solomonās Super Cool Style Blog!
This is my installation on Futurism.
Futurism is a style characterized by an emphasis on technology. An artistic movement that began in Italy in 1909 that violently rejected traditional forms so as to celebrate and incorporate into art the energy and dynamism of modern technology. Launched by Filippo Marinetti, it had effectively ended by 1918 but was widely influential, particularly in Russia on figures such as Malevich and Mayakovsky.
My installation focuses on the keyboard I am using to write this sentence. I feel like the future of theater is more and more digital. One of the main critiques of theater is that it isn't accessible. With futuristic technology and digital theater like Starkid, more people can experience it. That being said, one could argue that a video game theatrical piece or a filmed theater experience aren't actually theater. But the definition of theater can certainly change. It certainly did during the futuristic movement.Ā
